...))One crappy situation((...

Okay, so, I've been seeing this great guy Andy for the past couple of months. He really is great, I used to like him a lot. And I mean, A LOT. But during the last week, I kind of paused, and thought about us, and I realized, I'm not happy. I don't know why I'm not happy, there is no reason for it. Andy is a great guy, one who likes me a lot (heck, he might love me). But right now, it seems like the only reason I'm with him is because its easier than NOT being with him. And that is the wrong reason to be in a relationship. I know I need to break up with him, I don't really want to... it'll be a hard break up, and I want us to stay friends afterwards, but I don't see that happening, because this will probably be very unexpected by Andy. I fear I'm going to break his heart. :(

Has anyone else ever been in a similiar situation? Do you have any tips? My poem, "I'm sorry" is pretty much how I think the break up will go, but I dunno. Help would be appreciated.

Then do him a favour and break up now before it gets worse. The longer you put it off the more secure he'll feel. When you do call it off it'll no doubt crush him, but it'll be worse for him as each day goes by.

Tell him you want to be friends but give him some space afterwards, he's going to need it.

I know this may sound shitty, but if your not really unhappy and wanting to go, just not "satisfied" in the relationship, I would wait it out and see if your feelings get worse or better. Its not wrong, your just confused.

Thanks for all the help everybody, but I agree with Bert, I need to break his heart now, because it won't hurt as bad as it will if I break it later. I've decided I'm going to break up with him on Friday... gives him the weekend to recoup. *sigh* This sucks, I don't want to hurt him, but I'm gonna have to. :( Oh well, thanks again for the help. It was apreciated.

So, I broke up with Andy on Wed. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do, and he came over yesterday for some closure.... I've never seen a guy cry like that.... its so hard to watch yourself cause someone else that much pain, but it would've been a lot worse had I waited. Thanks for all the advice everybody. It was appreciated, and it helped.

And Bret? i think I'll call you Bert..... lol. Or maybe Bret... ha, I guess I'll go by whichever I type first!

If he came to you for closure he'll probably become a good friend in time. Give him a bit of space now though.
