Perhaps get him a new game he mentioned wanting to you or getting some fancy controller that he has always wanted? Candy and chocolate works well too...maybe just something so simple as a homemade coupon book with stuff like "Good for a massage after your hockey practice" or something like that. I dunno, that is just my 2 cents.
