Poetry comments

I cant be the only person to notice that on this site 90% of all comments on poems are positive but generic. is there some template here i dont know about. you know one with blank spaces to fill in a name or 2 and suitable adjectives. they all look nearly the same. you know what i mean " great flow.... nice rythm....loved your your imagery....(insert random lines from the poem here) i absoloutly loved this part. just so powerful...your poem was just /so sad/ so happy/so truthfull(delete whichever is not aplicable).... i have honestly felt that way 2 sometimes..../excelent job/great write(delete whichever is not aplicable) 5/5(or at worst 4/5)"
i mean seriously i have seen this same thing nearly word for word on hundreds of poems of all qualities.
is it simply that people cant really be bothered to think anymore. or are they so afraid of saying the truth because they dont want the truth back on there own work. i dont know if it is just me but i would rather someone say they hated my poems and explain why rather than get this generic bs time and again( there are some people who give decent and truthful comments that they obviously mean, but they seem to be getting fewer in number all the time) now is there anyone out there who agrees with me or is this worrying trend just my imagination?

Yeah, most comments are standard ones, comment for comment kinda..or perhaps we're being really cynical and that two line summation of your work is really the best they can do, or perhaps more accurately all they felt/thought from reading it.

When I get a good comment, I know I'm dealing with a good writer/reader and I want to check out their stuff.

    if I get al

"hey great poem, keep it up"

I don't even check their work.

I guess what you said is true frosty. alot of people dont really want true comments on there work. and who knows, if they arent discouraged by bad comments they may one day begin to produce something of note. i noticed that with one member on here. i had commented on one or two of her poems before. they where generic and boring but i was nice and found something good to say. then the other day for some odd reason i went over her poems again. and her last 4 where so different and emotional i was blown away. i commented on them because i wanted to not because i had to. then went to one of her ones i had commented on before and was critical about it, but explained it was only to show her how much they had changed. so maybe i did the right thing by not being critical of her earlier stuff at first. it would have been a shame if she stoped writing
