Happy early remembrance of being single day......

Hello everyone.. Just wanted to see if anyone else hates tomorrow because of its hype and the fact that their single... (or can't see their other)

There a lot of single people who despise Valentine's Day for that very reason, so you would not be alone in that respect.

Myself I just find it irritating, since I never notice it anyway and it usually just passes and by the time I notice it's the summer holidays AND OH CRAP IT'S TOMORROW oh well.

But it's not a big deal. It's one day. Pretend it's snowing or something. And jump around and scream how you're in love.

^ It's only a "hype" if that's how YOU choose to celebrate or view it as. As opposed to following the mainstream or viewing it from a mainstreams point of view, you should find your own way to celebrate or define Valentine's Day.

When I was single I wasn't anti-Valentine's Day or bitter because I was single. Valentine's Day, to me, was just like any other holiday; just one, of the many days, that I would spend with the people I love, which did not just include a boyfriend, but family and friends as well. Even still today, that's what it means to me. Just another day I get to spend with the people I love and whom love me; my partner, my family and my friends.

I did however make anti-Valentine's Day cards to my friends one year. I remember one had a picture of a dead rat on it and said something about how I didn't know what to get you for Valentine's Day so I thought would like this dead rat instead. I gave it to one of my friends who had a pet a rat. Another one of them had a picture of a real heart on it and said something about not asking where I got it from and that it would be our little secret. I gave it to one of my friends who happened to be going through that kind of morbid phase. Haha, time consuming, but worth it.

I am against Valentine's Day too, but not because I am single. It's become, like every other holiday, too commercialized. It's all about buying this and buying that; chocolate, flowers, teddy bears, jewelry etc. Nothing and no one is ever original with it and it just bothers me. If you love someone so much, do something that doesn't cost money, but is from the heart. Also, why just do it on one day of the year? Why not show your partner you love them everyday, or at least a few times a month? That, to me, is why Valentine's Day is a joke.
