Ice and Salt thingy

Hey i just dont get it..
I'm upset, and want to cut, but i know i dont wanna go down that road.. so i tried the ice and salt thing.. but it didnt work.. how do you get it to work!!??~~

You can get some pretty good negative numbers with salt and ice.

its where u take ice and put it on some place of ure body *SKIN* and u put salt on the ice and it burns ure skin

What is the reaction b/w the salt and ice?

The only thing I know, is if you put a pice of stringe on a block of ice, then put salt onto the string and ice, you can lift the block of ice up with the string because they're attatched .. somehow.

Water and ice combine in way that allows freezing without ice formation.

Sea water is the perfect example. In some places water temperature can be -18 (celcius) which is enough to kill you in 2 or 3 minutes (probably less) if immersed.

experiment.

Glass of water, thermometer a few ice cubes (preferably chips) and a stirring device.

All you have to do is stir and watch the temp. plummet.
