Just keep trying to start conversation and keep trying to open him up...it might take a little while but if he really likes you, it should work. I used to be shy like that.

Another approach is just to get him on his own and kiss him.

You already know he likes you and it's a great confidence booster.

On a more serious note just corner him and say "I know you like me, and I like you too, so come talk to me" or exclude the "you like me, I like you" part if you think its too childish and just say "come talk to me," take him on a walk with you or something. Tell him not to go away, and that you want to get to know him. Make him feel forced, but he'll like it.
