I read a book a long time ago, and it was called define normal and ever since then that has been my motto in a weird way... I want to know if anybody can define normal.. there is no deffinition of normal.. oaky what everybody wlse is doing.. ummmm how do we know if that is normal just because thats what everybody is doing..... so what.

Bert's definitive guide to defining normal.

Normality or 'The norm' as I call it is a state of medium, not deviating from that central line. Sitting on the middle of a fence, 2.4 children, the bride turning up late for her wedding. That is the norm.

Then you have to consider that happy kids are the norm, depressed kids are the norm. Black rock singers are the norm, white rappers are the norm. Everything everywhere at any given time is the norm.

This is when you realize than 'the norm' is the biggest form of deviancy there is.

Yeah but that's not your definition, that's just typical teenage apathetic norm... *shuts up*

As per calling people normal, I think that that is not justified, because everyone has quirks to make them different. Everyone has a different way of looking at things, and talking and explaining and etc...

The fact that nothing is normal makes everything normal.

I am normal. You guys are not like me, the status Quo, and therefor, are abnormal.

    Fact.

Sometimes you have to wear someone's head as a hat.

    That's specific... and normal.

Normal is considered standard. It is neutral and unextraordinary.

nothing can be normal, because no 2 persons will do something the same way, so each have they're own way. something can be normal for YOU, and not for the other.
So normal is just what you make of it

I like Timothy's definition of normal, and totally agree with it. Normal is what you make it out to be. I could be cannibalistic, and most of you would think that was crazy, but for me it'd be normal.

The Day No Hearts Would Die: Just to stress my point, the things that you listed as normal, and specific are not at all normal for me. When I go out on a date, either I pay for it, or we each pay for ourselves. (I'm a bit of a feminist, sorry.) I don't like gender limitations, so I don't pay attention to them.
