What country do you live in?
    U.S. an' A-yuh

What Natural Disasters do you have to worry about?
    Earthquakes and that's about it.

What traditions do you have that are special to you?
I take a shower in the morning and one at night. That's pretty special, innit?

    What is your favorite holiday?
    Christmas! I like to get.

What is your favorite food or dish from your country and if you want to be super nice, share a recipe!
Ooh, I like me a good ol' American hotdog with ketchup, mustard & relish.

What is one of the most beautiful places you have ever been in your country? Please post a link to a picture if possible.
Not sure we're allowed to post links, but I'd like to say the Grand Canyon. One of many very beautiful places.

What are a couple of things you find important for all countries to work together in accomplishing?
Understanding and mutual respect. And I think it should be easier to get a VISA, or even citizenship, to travel/live anywhere :)

Have you ever been to another country? If so what did you do there and how long did you stay? Did you find anything in their culture extremely different from your own ?
Mexico, Canada, Spain, England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, Laos, Thailand, France and Vietnam. I've loved everywhere I've traveled but most want to go back to Scotland - because it's a big part of my heritage and I love, love, love them green rolling hills - and Thailand - absolutely gorgeous country inside and out, with a wealth of culture (and it's super cheap!).

If not, where would you like to visit and why?
    Everywhere. Because.

What country do you live in?

    Scotland (Great Britain)

What Natural Disasters do you have to worry about?

None, though we do get nasty snowstorms sometimes. I recently found out Britain gets alot of tornadoes, even ones powerful enough to destroy a house, but those are small potatoes.

What traditions do you have that are special to you?

I sometimes eat a special dish called "Fantasy Pasta". It's basically pasta cooked in a pot as normal, but then you drain the pasta and put it back in the pot, you then pour in whatever cheap tin of beans or soup you have, and warm that up with the pasta..in the same pot..then you eat it out of the pot.

It's a charming headnod to my sparse student days and it always puts a smile on my face. The fantasy part, is that it's such a basic meal you fantasize about everything else you could be eating.

    What is your favorite holiday?

    Daylight savings time.

What is your favorite food or dish from your country and if you want to be super nice, share a recipe!

Haggis, neep and tatties. ( i had to say that..)

What is one of the most beautiful places you have ever been in your country? Please post a link to a picture if possible.

Oh, Glencoe in the winter is a sight to behold. A breathtaking mountain range that has a huge valley cut through the middle of it, and you can drive, albeit at your own risk all the way through. The place is steeped in history..just stunning.

What are a couple of things you find important for all countries to work together in accomplishing?

    Peace and equality.

Have you ever been to another country? If so what did you do there and how long did you stay? Did you find anything in their culture extremely different from your own ?

China was a big change. I did too much to write here, suffice to say I made a charming fool of myself alot, tried foods you can buy as pets in the uk and walked in places where I was the only white person they'd seen that month..good times.

If not, where would you like to visit and why?

Donald, I really don't think you have to worry about Chavez. Politics are blown way out of proportion as to how you'll be affected as a traveler. At least that's been my experience so far and I hope I'll experience the same in South America when I backpack through it in less than a year for a few months.

"One thing I love about Oregon, is we have the desert, the beach, the forest and the mountains...it's diverse and beautiful here."
Just like California :) I'm 10 minutes from San Francisco, 15 minutes from the beach, and 10 minutes from a Red Wood forrest (and hundreds of thousands of miles of open land that I trail ride on). Down south there are some of the best beaches and deserts in the world (and some of the best Mexican food) :P
    It's a good state I live in.

    I live in America

I guess I have to worry about tornados and flassh floods, once in a while we get an earthquake here in Illinois, but it's nothing more than rumble.

I don't have any traditions that are special to me, they never made much sense ot me.

I generally don't celebrate holidays, including my birthday, I loathe christmas.

My favorite dish is Chicken Paprikash, it was a recipe my family has kept since we came from the Czech Republic.

One of the most beautiful places I've been in America is Alaska.

Communication and understanding, that's what is important.

I've been to Canada, Ireland, England, the Bahamas, Mexico. Not much about the first three was different, and I was in Cancun, Mexico, my stay was generally like America where I was at; the same goes for my stay in the Bahamas.

What country do you live in?

    Australia

What Natural Disasters do you have to worry about?

The worst, droughts which lead to bushfires & heatwaves, floods, severe storms, earthquakes, landslides and we seem to be going on a lot of tsunami alerts lately. The state i'm moving to also experiences cyclones.

I liked when I was younger and my family used to get together for every holiday in my grandmas backyard. I have a few that are special to the kids like every Easter we have a plastic egg hunt and there is a "Grand Prize Egg" with 5$...

What is your favorite holiday? Christmas!

What is your favorite food or dish from your country and if you want to be super nice, share a recipe!

Lasagna..hey is that American or Italian? I am confused now. My favorite dish isn't American either it is the chicken curry that one of my friends from Pakistan taught me to make years ago. With homemade pitas mmmm great stuff, so is the hummus my friend from Syria taught me to make. Well he just brought it to work with the recipe, his mom made it !

What is one of the most beautiful places you have ever been in your country? Please post a link to a picture if possible.

The Cumberland Gap, Cocoa Beach Florida and Annapolis Maryland.

What are a couple of things you find important for all countries to work together in accomplishing? World Peace and how to stop or divert an asteroid from hitting the earth.

Have you ever been to another country? If so what did you do there and how long did you stay? Did you find anything in their culture extremely different from your own ?

    No, but Canada isn't far
If not, where would you like to visit and why?

Canada- Because Luanne lives there, I want to see Niagra Falls, I hear the casinos and the scenery are great and I can drive there which means I won't have to get on an airplane which I am very scared to do.

Oh Illu, you have a bucket list huh? Well that would be another interesting thread...unless it has already been done and I just don't remember.....

What country do you live in?
Australia (the one that isn't Austria)

What Natural Disasters do you have to worry about?
Alcoholism, droughts, bushfires, flash floods, bare history books and bogans.

What traditions do you have that are special to you?
Participating in the Zombie Shuffle and Melbourne Fringe Festival every year
Having a cheese-themed party for watching the cheesy Eurovision song contest (coming soon)
Attending Saraswati Puja, my favourite celebration of the independent hindu goddess of arts and learning
Going to my family home, sitting on my parents bed, eating brownies, playing board games and watching old BBC comedies

    What is your favorite holiday?
Since starting regular work, I love any long weekend- the feeling of two consecutive Friday nights is bliss.

What is your favorite food or dish from your country and if you want to be super nice, share a recipe!
My country is fond of burgers with beetroot, egg and pineapple. And barbecues in any weather. Not many other iconic images come to mind because Australia has a culture borrowed and absorbed from other countries. This suits me just fine...I love Indian food the best- it carries the brightest of flavours, the tastiest vegetarian food in the world, and the cooking is very scientific.

What is one of the most beautiful places you have ever been in your country? Please post a link to a picture if possible.
Grampians National Park has jaw-dropping geology and mazes of caves full of highly original indigenous graffiti. It isn't just beautiful, it is also extraordinarily ugly. Bulbous and ridiculous rock formations, fire-calloused gum trees, venomous snakes and critters, ravens feasting on dead wallabies and possums. An awesome place to camp, hike, stargaze and feel the spirit of the land.

What are a couple of things you find important for all countries to work together in accomplishing?
Realising and dealing with the social, spiritual, economical and environmental costs of a rapidly advancing technological age- we shoot forward without thinking outward and inward.

Have you ever been to another country? If so what did you do there and how long did you stay? Did you find anything in their culture extremely different from your own ?

One of my favourites will always be Salzburg- the first place I visited in Europe when I was much younger. To my wide eyes, it was a perfect picture book of a place, the ideal European town with a castle, cobbled lanes, icy mountains, classical music, and old, old buildings (Australia is a baby). I met a dashing older man by an old fountain and had a romance by the old river, it seemed the old thing to do. They eat a lot of pork and pickle in Salzburg.
Rome was divine. Almost like a Calcutta with white people.

If not, where would you like to visit and why?
    Next is South America.
