text of poem too long... - plz plz plz help me!!!

    can anyone suggest what to do?? when i try to submit a poem, 50 reasons y i love you, it givs err, says text of poem too long... its only 106 lines... i've seen poems much more longer than this... "the visitor" is a good example. try searching for "the visitor" (without quotes) and u'll know!

    what to do?? will anyone help me???

    hi! yea, 50 reasons, one more line to rhyme, so that akes 100 ines... so wht abt my 50 reasons???? lol... 25/25/??? strange! not any other method???? how was the 'the visitor' posted then??

    no.... lines are not that long... its not much in size.... 'the visitor' is 16 k or something... mine is only... 6kb! lol

    You may have to do a 2 or 3 part poem. Many of my long poems are like this:

    Poem (Part 1 of 3)
    Poem (Part 2 of 3)
    Poem (Part 3 of 3)

    That works too, the only problem is that people normally vote on part 3 and the other two dont stay with it in the highly rated section, if it gets there, but people may get the hint and read part 1 and 2 first. Just a tip...

    Yeah, I think you should divide it. Sometimes, the reader gets put off when they see the length of a poem. Not all but, some.

    glad you got it worked out amit! how did you do it??? I just thought of this the other day... did you have to post part of it and then edit in the rest?

    here is the mail from mr. mark spencer, author of the poem 'the visitor'...

    "Poems-And-Quotes has a limit on length for new poems. The trick is to post only the first stanza, so the poem is accepted. Then edit the already posted piece by adding the rest. It will post then. Good luck.
