How turn computer monitor into mirror?

  • EssesiaVaniag

Hi. Does anyone know if it's possible to use a background that would essentially turn my computer monitor into a mirror? Scanning a mirror doesn't work.

  • The Princess

You scanned a picture of a mirror thinking using it as a background would turn the monitor into a mirror?

    O.O

    ok.

maybe using a whole black background would reflect a bit? but rather vaguely. not as a mirror, of course.

    may I ask why, though?

I mean, after all a mirror is a mirror and a computer is.. well, a computer..

  • The Princess

    ^^
or stick it above the monitor? more like.. a cars rear-view mirror? only that it would be a monitor's? =p

however, now that I thought about it, how is it that one would be able to read/write/browse anything with a mirror as a monitor? beyond me.

or maybe I just lack the needed imagination?

anyone knows how to turn the mouse into a lipstick? and no, covering it with lipstick does not work and messes everything. so unless you're willing to clean it, don't try it. fair warning.

on a rather serious note though, I rather missed a light and humorous thread in these forums. *smiles*

Goodluck with it though, looks confusing to me.

anyone knows how to turn the mouse into a lipstick?

Well I have heard of one girl who turned mice in to horses but she should of turned them in to clocks because .... then she lost her slipper and was late getting home and had to scrub the floors on her hands and knees and .... well errrr it is just a horrible, horrible story..... lol

I'm curious to know myself if you are serious or if this is a joke. Did you actually try scanning a mirror thinking that if you set it as your background that it would reflect your image as you were on the computer? I don't think it works that way. Haha, too funny.

Why do you need a mirror at your computer anyways?

  • The Princess

Oh wow! it's seem i'm outdated!!

you forgot to mentioned she did marry the prince at the end, Luanne, so maybe it's not that bad an idea after all. not to mention, that lipsticks are more affective than horses nowadays, you see. princes included *winks*

  • Ingrid

And thinking in stereotypes is supposed to make you look..mmhh..smart?

  • Elizabeth

I don't actually believe such stereotypes of blondes but I've had my fair share of what could be considered blonde moments despite not being blonde. In fact many of the people whom I know who have been told to have had a blonde moment aren't blonde either. I consider the term blonde moment to simply mean that a person has done or said something silly resulting in an embarrassing situation. Not necessarily saying they have to be blonde. It's term that's been widely used for quite some time that a person gets into the habit of using.

I admit, I laugh at blonde jokes. Should I feel bad? There are also many other jokes pertaining to people who are brunette or who have red hair, so those who are blonde aren't the only people subject to stereotypes. Some of the brunette, of which I am, jokes I've heard are just as unflattering or offensive as blonde jokes but do I get uptight? No, I can't appreciate a joke and understand that a joke is a joke, nothing to take seriously. Do I get angry at people who make them or find humor in them, no, I realize that if a person makes those kind of jokes it doesn't mean their ignorant and I don't think that if a person finds humor in those kind of jokes it makes them ignorant either. Usually, it's all in good fun.

To take some pressure of the OP for moment, I have a question, to which anyone is free to answer. But first, I've got a couple stories to share. First story: One night while eating icecream with my mom I turned to her and asked, sincerely, "Mom, why is icecream cold?" To which she replied, "...because it was in the freezer." I burst into laughter and exclaim, "Oh, right!" Second story: While watching tv one day I was biting the sides of my cheeks, like I always do, when my mom turned to me and exclaimed, "Lizzie, don't do that!" Curious I asked why. She exclaimed once again, "Because if you do your face will cave in!" My eyes go wide and I ask, honestly believing her, "Really?!!!" Now, my question for anyone is this... How many of you found humor in that? Be honest! You can laugh if you want, I'll laugh with you too.

For the record, the original post here is taken from a Blonde Joke that I have heard going around recently. That's all I meant. I doubt the OP was being sincere... just wanting to generate some bahahas more like.

I know what you are trying to say, Britt and yes I should lighten up. I know no harm was intended by anyone, but I just want to know why it is so acceptable to make jokes about this particular haircolor. I feel you should either allow all human characteristics to be ridiculed without anyone stepping in, or none at all.

I would have said something about it, even if I would not have had blonde hair by the way. I don't like to see groups of people being stereotyped.

And no, you are not stupid at all, not as far as I can see, ha ha.

"To make jokes about people based on their ( hair) color, race or religious beliefs is rather obtuse."

^ Well to be clear, nowhere did I, nor anyone else, make a single blonde joke (aside from the OP, haha). Honestly, I don't know what the fuss is about. Were you upset at what I'd said or at the OP's joke? I apologize if it was what I'd said that upset you, it wasn't personal.

"...I just want to know why it is so acceptable to make jokes about this particular haircolor."

^ It's acceptable, like Britt said because usually it's all in good faith and humor. Also, it's not just blondes subject to these jokes. There are also many other jokes pertaining to people who have red hair and who are brunettes, commonly that they are jealous of blondes and some I've heard accusing of being sl*tts. Thanks to South Park red heads or "gingers" as they are referred to in South Park have received a lot of negative stereotypes. In South Park the character Cartman makes the following remarks towards red heads in his hate-speech: they're supposedly, inhuman, inherently dumb, have no soul and are unable to survive in sunlight. I actually no a guy from school who takes what was said on South Park seriously, makes it part of his persona, and took it too far one day. He made the following remark to one of his red-headed friends, "I don't have to listen to you, you don't have a soul!" You can probably guess that he was the only one laughing at that point, everyone else including his friend was a loss for words, that is until most of us girls started to ream into him about it.

"I feel you should either allow all human characteristics to be ridiculed without anyone stepping in, or none at all."

^ All human characteristics do get ridiculed. There are jokes about peoples weight, jokes about peoples skin color, jokes about gender, jokes about sexuality, jokes just about for everything. Where there is a tomato there is a tamato.

"My Dad used to always tell me when I was growing up that my eyes were so brown because I was so full of crap. Haha."

^ Lol, omg, you were told that too! My grandpa and older cousin's use to tell me that too when I was younger. I would get so mad, haha.

"For the record, the original post here is taken from a Blonde Joke that I have heard going around recently. That's all I meant. I doubt the OP was being sincere... just wanting to generate some bahahas more like."

    Well now, don't I feel blonde :)

For the record - it's more stupid to believe blondes are stupid than it is to make blonde jokes.

Race and religious jokes are subjectively bad because people often feel there's some truth to them, and because there have been wars and mass killings based on race and religion.

I doubt if anyone actually believes blondes are dumb :\ 'cause that would be pretty dumb.
And I highly doubt there will ever be a war surrounding hair color, especially when dye is so accessible.

I understand you might think, "What's the point of blonde jokes if some people take offense to them?"

I think some people take offense to just about anything because it gives them something to care about. The idea of political correctness is getting out of hand...

    "Blondes have more fun."
Ingrid, have you ever heard this said and jumped to the rescue of all brunettes, gingers, and black haired folk? Because I happen to think we are all equally capable of fun and I demand justice!

Don't worry Norgihan, last I heard men prefer brunettes nowadays..but who really cares about such things? I am not ever going to dye my hair to please a man, lol. And as you say, character and personality is what really counts, who would want to be with a man that choses you solely on the basis of your looks anyway?

And yes, I think she was joking :D

  • The Princess

I'd dye my hair! just for a change. it's just that it would overly displease a man in my case, not please him. my dad =[ but then I swear with the first white hair that appears in my hair. i'm dyeing it! and RED!

and no woman would want a man who chose her only for her looks. but at the same time he has to think she's beautiful as well, you see. if not the most beautiful. we're rather ''simple'' that way. I have no idea why do men complicate us much! rofl

you know, I sound like a complete airhead in this thread, I fear that my reputation is ... gone?*smiles*

  • Ingrid

Lol, I am sure you would look very beautiful with a few threads of a lighter color, or red in between your own color, Norgihan.

Beind blonde has one advantage though: you cannot really see when a white hair appears. I have a few silver hairs in between the blonde and it does not really show or bother me. I am sure if my hair was dark, it would.

And yes, you are right, off course we want our guy to think we are most beautiful, that is only natural. It is when he choses you, then it should be for all of you and not for looks in the first place, don't you think?

This thread is light and cheerful, nice for a change :D

  • The Princess

Yes, it is indeed an advantage, but in my case it means no dyeing. so i'm glad mine is dark, though I would've loved if it was black, well I would've loved if it were anything but that strange brownish. frustrating. and ungrateful I know, why if dad was here he would say I should behave myself and thank god I'm not bald.. yet. oh well.

I adore your shade of blond though. rather unique since it would not suite most people I know, including me.

about guys, yes I agree, problem is they never tell you if it's the way you look, your family or money they are after. you probably never know until it's too late. not to mention you rarely find someone who looks beyond a pretty face, let alone other things and you rarely find someone genuine, honest or true.

and yes, the thread is light, cheerful and nice for a change. so lets keep it so =]

  • The Princess

    @ Britt:

I hate the sight of it as well, when I see a woman with roots a different hair color than her hair. I just can't help but stare for some reason. I think if you don't have the time or the means to keep it ONE color then leave it natural. otherwise you're rather ruining it. but what I really find gross are colored contacts. yuck yuck.

but then I don't like highlights either, though I'm not against them they actually look wow on some people if the right colors are choosen, but actually my hair has naturally more than one color in it. including shades of brownish red, even gold when the sun touches it. so I would love to have it one color for a change, all of it.

it's funny you mentioned that, my favorite hair cut and do was the same, i tried to do it again afterwards but it never looked the same =[ weird.

about Jason, here is one guy not attracted to blondes.

  • The Princess

It seems i'm always a post late!

I'm happy for you, Britt, but such man is easier to find in your case, you won't find other men spinning around you. and they are a lot. so you're lucky.

does that mean you're saying I have not matured enough though? *smiles at the thought*

I think females don't get those genes, do they? I mean I don't know a naturally bald woman!

I say it's a strange brown because it is strange? actually it's not the brown i'm used to seeing. not that it's that much of a brown anyway. here mostly they have black or very dark brown here. so maybe that's why. or maybe I'm just overly conscious. my sister has dark black hair and tanned like skin, so my step mom used to say that I'm pale, actually chalky and with a ''colorless'' hair sometimes so that she does not feel overly conscious. I ended up the one feeling, well, uncomfortable. not that I don't understand.

    ^^
I believe you adressed this to me, Norgihan? Thanks, you cannot really see it but it's a sort of reddish- blond and now silver in between too. I am part German, and over there lots of women have this particular color. If I start too look old becaue of too much white in between I might use color shampoo, not sure yet..don't want my hair to fall off, heh!

I like when people have their own color, I think it is most beautiful, especially when you take care of it in such a way that is shines like satin.

You and Britt look beautiful just as you are:)

That one chick of Skunk Anansy wasn't she bald by nature? I will look for a clip now..

    It is Skunk Anansie btw:

so anyone found a way, other than Luanne's, to turn the keyboard mouse into a lipstick or the touch pad into a compressed powder? any of such? =p

When all the girls were bleaching their hair blonde in high school, I dyed mine black :) It scared away the guy who was pursuing me... saved me the trouble of finding out he wasn't in it for my personality!

"of course we want our guy to think we are most beautiful, that is only natural."

^ And when I'm in love, my boyfriend is the most handsome man in the world! I wouldn't say women are more complicated than men. That's just a stereotype :) Also, I doubt any guy would like it if a girl went for him based on his looks. Guys aren't silly dumb-dumbs with no feelings like we've been stereotyped to believe, haha. That's just Bob!

I'm kidding of course. Even Bob is no silly dumb dumb.

  • The Princess

Ingrid, yes I was addressing you :) and it seems she's bald yes, if she didn't shave it. O.O

@ silvershoes: he left you because you changed your hair color to black? O.o why of the most shallow people i've met and heard about in my life he is by far the most! *shakes head in disbelief*

Alfred, being noticed by people, compliments and such is spirit lifting at times yes. especially from strangers. so if you're shallow, so am I. but it's whole other thing having the person you're with being with you because of mainly the way you look, or knowing that if you did not look a certain way he would've never gave you the time of the day. there has to be something more, something deeper, something that's you. inside. the world is full of rather pretty people, and thanks to plastic surgeries their numbers are increasing, it's about what qualities you want in a person.

I think first impression when it comes to me is ''hear'' not ''look'' though. I never really notice any guy until he opens his mouth and talks. seriously. I'm rather weird like that.

and thanks for the compliment, for a moment I thought you meant my frowning avatar *laughs*
