Nevermind, I guess it just took awhile and my old name will stay up on that first post.

Your old name will indeed stay the same in past posts, but in the future:
Click to Add/Change your profile on the right.
Change or edit your name.
To see your changed name immediately, log out & log back in. You may even need to close & restart your browser.
