I'm just in a happy mood today LMAO!!

Those small obscure fishes, they are ferocious and scary in appearance. lol

"Remove" button? I think removing the praised unworthy comments is too late and unnecessary now, I just hope we learn something that we wish we had known earlier.

    Thank you, EvanescentMoon.
Glad there was no time wasted, Sintra.

Yeah, I mean, there's nothing that can be done for the past... seriously, nothing. The present and future are what we're workin' on.

I used to fancy a platnum C award ,but seeing how coveted it is I believe I shall just praise the Lord and pass the glory.

"Praising comments thing started by new mods is just to get some members into the radar of senior members list so that they nominate all the shit around and some no so worthy judges stamp them as winners, all of the people here cry that Janis and dainz left this site to die, no people like us who choose friends over poetry and then not so capable judges and then some stupid suspensions over no reasons, in simple terms we are choking this site and killing it each day"

Janis and/or Dainz set up comment praising and the infamous C award on PnQ. Mods don't have power over the function other than to review and approve praises. J and/or D didn't leave us with a list of rules for what should be praised. As far as we know, he/they intended us to approve any comment that gets praised.
However, we're not doing that. If it seems like mods were, I'm pretty sure they/we are doing so no longer.

As for why I made this thread, I assure you it was to encourage people to use a function that is available to them. To encourage people to be more active and thus a domino effect might ignite and everyone would benefit from more comments overall (some good, some bad... but at least there would be more).
People suggesting that "new" mods aka ME have some cracked out intentions about non worthy judges and what not... LOL. That's all I have to say about that!

This praising thing has indeed turned into one more drama, and it's pretty ridiculous haha. It's a good thing as far as I'm concerned, but people are warping it into a tainted maneuver that's going to tear down the walls of good commentary and mock the great honor of being a senior member.
Since J & D set up that C award, becoming a senior member has been done the way it is being done now. This thread isn't a new rule or new door of possibility... it's a thread of encouragement for people to use the tools already available to them.

I think before I made this thread, mods may have had a tendency to praise more loosely than they will now. That's because of this thread.
Be happy for that and let's move on.

It's not a problem when you complain and then appreciate when your complaint is heard. People continuously complain about the same old things and don't even bother looking to see if anything's changed. But I'm not directing that at you because you seem to be very appreciative and open. I thank you for that. It's like a breath of fresh air.

I for one have never approved a one liner. I click "ignore" to anything I don't think is worthy. Of course I can't speak for other mods because I'm not hovering over their shoulders watching them in action haha, but from the way this thread looks, I don't think any mod who has posted here accepts one liners.

Sooooo. What was the change to the way moderators approve praised comments then?

    at least 100 words?
at least 4 stanzas quoted, thereby increasing word count?
at least 2 spelling mistakes detected?
at least 1 thing that the reader forcefully and inaccurately deciphered?
at least people who are annoyed with other people's praised comments are happy?

    Lol Abby, you kill me.

Ah, I don't think we have specified rules set since they would be too impossible to follow and there are always exceptions.

From now on mods will approve comments that seem to have properly digested the poem and respond thoroughly to the poem's content. Also, the comment should provide detailed feedback, either positive or constructive. No one liners. No comments that could've been left on any poem. No comments that are filled with empty praise.
In addition to these things, I typically don't approve anything under 3 or 4 FULL lines that carry value.

    How does that sound?

OMG I really feel like this praising thing is given attention a lot lot more than it's supposed to take.

Not like I'm moaning or disagreeing but..why would it hurt others so bad if someone appreciated a comment no matter how small and praised it..then the praise was accepted...

hows that so bad?! just show me a definition for the word praise..that's related to this website! that reveals Specifications that a comment should hold in order to be praised..despite being beneficial..

People...this is what was written in the praising guidelines :

    # Offer an insight into the meaning of the poem from the point of view of the reader, or what they thought the writer was aiming for.

    >>>>>>>.so I will praise any comment that shows me real understanding and true analysis for my piece even if was ONE LINE..and I believe the mods should respect my decision..cause after all this is something incorporeal not materialistic, we wont get money or a fortune for commenting praising..wat ever..

    # Express the personal feelings of how the piece made the reader react, which should be more varied than the standard empty response: "Hey good poem, love it, good work".

    >>>>>>>>>. this can be expressed in 3 tiny lines..and I will praise a comment like that... why ? simple ..this reader read my piece well..felt the emotions by concentrating over the words I wrote...
appreciating that ..would cost only a praise..

    ..then it said :
These examples are not exclusive, in that if you comment and do something not mentioned you are not instantly disqualified from ever earning praise points, they are examples of the kinds of responses the moderator team feel would be worthy of recognition

    ^^^^^^^^^^^
I didnt see anything like praise only comments that correct ur gram..only improve ur poem..only a comment that benefit..
This is only a TOOL..nothing that needs alllllllllll
these posts about ( no am not annoyed) am only trying to speak logic.

this website is supplied by many tools, that each member registered can use.
we dont neeed to analyze each tool and its usage..
I dnt see harm if tiny comments been appreciated more than they should be..cause it made the poet feel something special bout the comment..nor i see harm if all the members became senior members cause of that.

these are emotional things..nothing to really gain more than appreciation..trust..frnds..talent and confidence.

no change is to be made...my god if I was the praise tool i WOULD have killed my self lifetime ago.
Many things are wrong al over the world..so even in a poetry community u would find things u wont like ...

Just accept things...and we should stop really analyzing everything over here.. I can moan about the voting system ..ppl give u 3 then run away..or 1..i can moan bout rumors..told behind our backs..but thats only what really is giving these issues the chance to have a real place ...ignore thats the one way to get rid of things. ( sure not in all cases)

but a praise remains a praise. every one got the right to praise a comment they really want praised for reasons they believe in. nothing that harmful. At all

Now sure I will find who object over my words...but with all honesty I DNT CARE.. this is a battle field..it doesnt really look like a thread in a poetry website..!!!

they talked about praising..to let ppl who don't really know whats that for...and this was the end of the rope :

the praising system is moaned about

    then :

member's switching clubs is no more accepted
and is now defined as terrorism ..or what ever

u dnt praise ur moaned over...u praise..ur told many are not worth it..

Many ppl always talk behind the back of each other..

poems are being down voted ..without real reasons..

    ..
what do u like then!! about the website ?
why no one seemed to be satisfied..i always said if te members of p and q..lived in one house..they would have killed each other..
and am one of u..so dnt take my words and analyze them.

ITS JUST TOO MUCH NOW..this is not speaking ur mind..cause no one seems to be satisfied..
what ever tool is given..was given for a reason.
and who uses it...even if used it wrong..got the right to use it! YES holly god they got the right..cause no bet they got reasons they believe in...repeating that there is NO real GAIN.
    it's not a bank.

so we can write..praise..comment..and chat happily from now on..and stop analyzing tools..then interpreting what any one says..like i believe many would now interpret my words..into something they dislike..jst to disagree with me... but i dnt care if u dnt want to praise my comment dont..but no one will eat my head for praising words I believe deserves, knowing that the reasons ill give will ring a bell!

or maybe not. but am only done from seeing all these explanations on things mucccch more simpler

I'm kind of doubting that silvershoes is praising and approving her own comments... so why are you targeting her here?

This is such a weird, ridiculous, unique, imaginative, hilarious poem. I love it. I've read it thrice now over the past several months but little did I know - til now - that I'd never commented.

    Nice work, Sibby.
Write more poems. I miss your stuff.

    how does that hurt...!!

whats there to be said more over a funny poem

none of my businesses , but I have an opinion too..and I think praised comments don't need really lots of an explanation for why was it accepted..

I just dnt get it, why everybody is angry bout simple words being praised..perhaps they have a special meaning for the poet him/her self !!

nothing to lose///nor anything to gain.
