Hey-okay I've been highlighting my hair for about a year and a half now about every 3 months...and we I say highlighting...I was basically going blonde. Well I got tired of that and wanted to go back to a darker color more like my natural color-which is a dark redish brown. So I went to walmart-got Loreal Coleur Experte in the dark brown with red highlights shade...and it turned my hair purpleish red, the highlights came out orange...and I missed a ton of spots (that I didn't notice until EVERYONE at school pointed them out today...lol). So I NEED to recolor again as soon as I can to fix it-but I dont have enough money to get it professionally done...so I'm just gona get some more kits (2 this time because that's why I missed some spots...I have too much hair for one kit!!! lol) and have my mom do it this time. But how soon can I recolor. I just did it saturday night and I was hoping to be able to do it as soon as this Saturday??? Does anyone know how long I have to wait???

    Thnx!!!
    Sincerly,
    Purple Hair...lol

First of all I would use a clarifying shampoo to strip a bunch of the color from it. You could even do a vinegar rinse over it to get the excess out. You want your hair to release as much color as you can before you put new die into it.

Secondly when you choose your color DONT PICK ANYTHING WITH RED!!! Just pick a dark brown, dont go auborn or anything because it wont turn out right. If you pick a dark brown it is more likely to look like the color on the box.

I think your better off getting it professionally done and borrowing the money from your mom... but its your hair. Be careful because over dying can lead to it falling out and getting very un healthy.

After you die it again deep condition it so that it doesnt get all brittle and grody.

okay thanks guys...tomorrow (we don't have school) im gona get some stuff from Sally's Beauty Supply to strip most of the dye out, then I'm dying it a dark brown with ash tones to go against my natural red...then in a few months i'll add highlights. Well thanks for all the help guys-and I'll tell you how it turns out this time...lol...

Darling Id advise going to a hairdresser...if you've had your hair professionally doen for the past few months the main reason for your reaction is because your not using a salon color...sy the sounds of things you need a toner - Try watered down tomato sauce...that works if teh colour is still fresh....If not try going red first...expect a pinky result and then go dark over that...I have done everything with my hair - believe me!
