What do you think as a poet and as a reader ( commenter ) a Poem should be judged for.

Because being an obsessed reader, I do read not less than 30 poems a day..with their comments over P&Q.

Irony Is, I have seen some ppl, asking some poets about why they chose a ( bla bla) word!!

I mean if we stop,,,for a second... It is not our businesses to ask a poet about the usage of any word he or she chose to express their thoughts and images.. as long as it is used RIGHT

If dogs bark..then what would a poet say other than BARK..! I refuse to paste examples over here BUT seriously..It drove me to think, when I saw variety of commenters , and sometimes same commenter asking about stuff that we as readers don't have the authority to ask them to change ( whether they will or will NOT take the suggestion or the criticism into consideration )

    > So you ppl, what do u think comments should be shortly picking..

aint it all about grammar and spelling mistakes..
    forced rhyming etc..Broken eng..broken neck.. !

Cause personally I can't respect someone who is writing a comment that the poet wont understand..And I can't respect lame comments that does nothing for the sake of the poem or the poet..But only leaves a cloudy impression.

    >>SHORT comments that motivate and tell the poet what they had as an impression..if even in 2 lines..are not the ones I am aiming at..(at all)

comments do have a purpose( unless I'm wrong)..but a comment that has nothing to serve..is purposeless ..worthless and lame.

And I think we should only talk about the grammar
    the spelling
    the coherence
    the flow
and the relation of the ideas that a poet will be penning down.

    nothing else..despite suggesting a new word...or a diff..expression ( which I do usually)..for the sake of a better flow..and a richer meaning.

But not to ask someone why did u say THAT..
I am someone who LOVES honest comments, I do not mind critique at all. BUT BUT if anyone comes and gives his comment in a lame way that won't help me improve..then gah..why to impress

What I look for when I am commenting on peoples poetry is to let them know 1. How it made me feel 2. What I liked about the poem 3. What I did not like about the poem and 4. If there is anything I think they should change, any suggestions I may have.

    ^^^SAYS it all..I think

Oh yes yes THANK YOU for bringing that UP...I do not wanna make drama over here.. I am known for hating THAT..

But oh man..I had the same comment pasted over Nicko's..Sylvia and MY poem..

It made me laugh as much as It pissed me off.. I mean come on..no one is that much stupid..
If u don't want to read, then don't read.. But I take it as an insult to be thought a fool that way.
Well I am the wrong person and I WILL FIND OUT.
    -_-

Oh and I will do the same thing that I have done last night.. I will copy their popular comment and PAste it..on their own work !

You crack me up, Nana, ha ha ha!

A good comment makes you feel you touched the other person's heart. No matter how clumsy the wording, when I detect genuine interest and emotion, I am touched and it gives me an incentive to go on.

I don't know if this works with a screen name, but while I googled my name I have actually stumbled on to my PQ comments

No one should take a short comment from me as an insult. because I type with one finger and have never been a great speller, I will admit that I rarely ever give a harsh or detailed critique, or as many as I have commented on , I would have a platinum comment award ...like you Nana

MIch..this has nothing to do with short comments :).

We are not talking about that..we are actually saying that if u wana give a long comment..then dont do that to impress and ask ppl why they chose a bla bla..word!

    that's all :)
as for your comments. they always motivate me personally !
