I had a teacher who could not teach Algebra 2. I have a teacher who cannot teach Pre-Cal (I say this because when the whole class save about three people fail a test, that says something, eh?). You'll just have to tough it out. Not every teacher is going to know how to appeal to every one of their students. Maybe one of your friends can help?

PS: Dropping out is the worst thing you can do in something like this. Then you'll be condemned to work at McDonald's for the rest of your life! ~Sorry, inside joke with some friends =)

lol...yeah..i know for a fact im not gonna drop out..but it feels nice just thinking bout it...my teacher seriously does not know how to teach, no one understands him, my friends help, yeah, but what about when im at home or at a test, i mean they help me and all, but then we start something new..ya know...he just goes through it like woh... gives a couple examples and then work...doesnt really do a good job..and the most easiest answers that have 2 steps, he'll make into like 10 steps...thats really un- necessary, i think!!

see..teaxher like that shouldn't of graduated from teacher school or wherever they came from....i hate teachers like that...and yet they think they're the best teacher in the world....when they can't even explain a simple equation or something...*pissed off* (bad day at school)

I am 16 and left high school 3 years early. And got my degree by correspondance. I would be going with JustPlainMe on that one. High school does not make you smart, but dropping out doesnt make you smart either.

don't you think that employers will see if you finished high school? if they see you dropped out, it will show as a sign that you are weak and can't handle pressure or hard times. I'm not saying that's what you're really like, but i'm just telling you what it would be like.

this is true about the employer, it does depend.. but i still think it would just look better on the ol' resume if it didnt say in black ink HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUT unless you want to learn a skill such as a mechanic.

High school also gives you alot of basics you will need later on. Like, I'm sure you'll need to know some basic algebre if you want to work for and Aerospace company. I'm not saying high school is the all mighty learning centre, just that it would help if you stuck it out for those four short years of our short lives

School really isnt made for everyone, but going off JPM's theory that "the child with the brain gets left behind," I would say most of todays youth need to suck it up, stay in school, and let the kids with the brains leave and accomplish something.

Its a harder road to tread, and most kids couldnt cut dropping out and having to go about everything differently than how society wants it. I left and graduated and right now I am working full time because I discovered I didnt want to go into college at 16 with everyone so much older. It doesnt sound like much fun, but then again college doesnt sound like much fun because hardly any of the kids are actually there to learn, they are there to get pussy (apparently) and to find themselves, among dwindelling away their parents money for a diploma that they could get in 4 years, but now average 6. This is a generalization, dont jump on me. I can see everyone attacking already.

Anyway they need to better the school system, but I must say that I was in a private school for 11 years and the teacher-student ratio was about 1-8 or 9, and there was tons of personal attention, etc. and I still wasnt happy there. Everyone is so different that every system cant work for everyone, however the school system needs to focus more on what works than throwing money at a broken system to band-aid it and hope it works better next year while they are cutting 20 days out of the year. I live in OR and we have the least amount of school days as any other state, they blame it on the budget, I blame it on lazyness. They arent willing to fix it.

I am not saying that you went to college only for pussy; I have a feeling you probably have enough brain cells to balance the books, a job, and the pussy quite nicely.

And that is not my excuse not to go... that is a reason that I am apprehensive to go, my reason for not going at 16 is that it doesn’t seem appealing to go into school with a bunch of 19 year olds at this point. Plus college isn’t that appealing to me in the first place and I can tell you why honestly, to a certain extent it is a big waste of time, just like high school. You need the degree to get anywhere, but a parrot can go and memorize a text book and the people that graduate are normally just as big of idiots as when they went into the institution at 18. You can’t teach people to think for themselves, college sure as hell doesn’t, so if I had to pick my way of thinking of the scholars’ way of thinking I would go with mine.

That having been said I will probably end up going anyway because no potential employer cares what I think about school. That also having been said I already run my own company and probably won’t have to work for someone else because of circumstance that has left me in a very good position. The reason I have not gone into college yet is simply because I am not pressed to have to. I am intrinsically conflicted and am thinking about all my options before I start down a path of headaches that I don’t have to endure, necessarily.

The problem with OR is that everyone wants to pledge tax money that no one has. Intel has moved in and the economy has gone up, especially in real estate, and things are getting better. Actually in the bigger areas, like Portland, everything is doing quite well. Our schools get lots of money; we just don’t use it correctly. The State is very liberal, which is only a problem because... well... it causes economic problems. I myself am independent, but see both view points and think that if a little more conservative influence were in the local government that we might be able to shape things up. OR is such a pain in the ass about tree hugging, etc. I love the trees too, but do we love the homeless people?

I for one think that we should all switch to decaf for we are all way to uptight and we have forgotten why this post was created, to help our friend creasy with the decison about dropping out of school. Now it has turned into a "gloves off anything goes" fight.

    lol.

WHY do you want to leave school?

There are good reasons, which should be supported,

And there are bad reasons, which mean you should keep your ass in school.

    So share with us...

Sorry I haven’t been on in a long time..guess a lot of things happened in just the short time I was gone...not to get back on this topic..but justplainme, it did sound like al you did in college was get ‘pussy’ it seems like thats why you enjoyed college!? . Neways I don’t think highschool is teaching me the ish I need to learn.. Esp cuz of the school im in...I don’t wanna make it sound like this school is like ‘brokedown’ or whatever cuz it aint...but im saying there is wayy too much gossip for any learning.. Ppl here are just so flucking immature, and the teachers don’t know how to teach...
    And b.t.w.
guys don’t “need ‘pussy’” you have masturbation.. ;) lol...lms.

lol. The pussy tangents are always fun, but getting back to school...

What grade are you in? And why dont you tranfser into a better school if gossip and shitty teachers are your concern? It doesnt sound like your reasons are the best, they are common complaints about the school system but you have no more of a reason to leave than any other kid. I would say that if those are your only reasons you should stay, but if there are more then share them and maybe we can get more opinions from people.

I left school because I wanted to graduate early and have time to go for other accomplishments that I have done and am still working towords, I talked to my school counselors, my teachers, and the principle, and wrote a letter. They all determined that it would be better for me to leave then stay because I could accomplish more, but I had different circumstances then most people. I dont support most kids leaving, most kids need to grow up and high school lets them do that. I was mature enough to skip that and move on, high school was holding me back. I dont know you, but if you are in the same position you should leave, but if you're just fed up for the general reasons, I would keep your but in school.
