    Gregarious
    [Adjective]

    PRONUNCIATION:
    (gri-GAIR-ee-uhs)

    MEANING:
    1. Fond of the company of others; sociable.
    2. Living in flocks or herds, as animals.

    ETYMOLOGY:
1660s, "living in flocks" (of animals), from Latin gregarius, from grex (gen. gregis) "flock, herd," (cf. Gk. ageirein "to assemble," agora "assembly;" O.C.S. grusti "handful;" Lith. gurgulys "chaos, confusion, gurguole "crowd, mass").
Sense of "sociable" first recorded in 1789.

    QUOTE WITH THE WORD:
"The human being is in the most literal sense a political animal, not merely a gregarious animal, but an animal which can individuate itself only in the midst of society." - Karl Marx

This is what happens when boredom consumes you.

Various people say you are gregarious,
    hilarious for an aquarius.
    Although nefarious,
and put me in a place that is precarious,
you are a person of whose authority is vicarious.

    Mind your 'P's & 'Q's

The members of this site can be as gregarious
tea partiers at a Jon Stewart Rally.
Often we manage to be just as hilarious,
or my name is not Michael D Nalley.

Birds of a feather flock together
    that is naturally nothing new.
Snow sticks together in cold weather
it seems that many of us do too.

Yet, if we were just a Billabong
that will never make it to the sea,
May the angels ever sing our song:
God bless forever you and me

sibyllene knows she need not wink at me,
nor britt make me a chicken pot pie.
silvershoes dance while the wind blows free:
Poems and quotes will never die.

PS I will bear absolutely no grudges
if I am disqualified for kissing up to judges XD

Ha ha ha ha, I like the poems, especially the one Hellon made. I once had a crush on a gay guy, didn't know he was, he was such a looker!

Gregarious is the way to be
But nor for a girl like me
I like doing things my way
Make a feast of every day
Don't really care to be en vogue
    That's why I went rogue

    Peaceful at Last

"Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep"
and doesn't really want to find them.

Precocial at birth, gregarious on earth,
    running uphill in a flock.

Twice, chewing their food, seems kind of rude,
guess they just can't make up their mind.

Can't see quite clear, yet they can hear,
every whisper that blows in the wind.

Like little dominoes falling, there will be no crawling,
if they should land on their back.

Made of wool and not stone, can't stand alone
scared of the shadows and dark.

Little Boo Peep, can finally sleep,
now that the sheep-swarming grasses are quiet.

No longer must she heed, plead and nor feed,
or listen to them bleat endlessly ...

Another thread full of excellent poems! A very proud member I am.
I'm giving this win to Hellon because her poem made me chortle.

HM goes to Michael, but maybe you all deserve HM's.

    Georgie Porgie pudding and pie,
Kissed no girls and made them sigh
When the boys came out to play,
    Georgie Porgie would always stay.

Thanks for the HM I don't want to steal thunder from Hellon, she takes the cake.

That's ok, she said she'd share her cake ... lol

Jane looks like Michael and I need a nursery rhyme word in the coming days :)

My little Bo Peep needs to greet, little Miss Muffet and the Three Little Kittens want little Boy Blue to find their mittens.

    Gregarious Mary

    Mary had a little lamb,
    The kid was no ram
    No cause for alarm
    She meant no harm
    What did she expect
    hanging around the farm?
