    Nope... natural blondish brown...

Energy comes from those delicious keebler cookies that those other elves keep baking for us. I must admit that I think we are secretly addicted.

Have any of you been to a poetry slam?

^ Yes, I have, and I won money and a flat screen TV.

    How much did it suck?

^ ahh not much at all, just look at my previous answer.

Kev - I like to read poems, but I get super awkwarded out whenever people start to read their own poems out loud. Garrison Keillor can do it... but he's on the radio, so it's fine. I think I'd suck at poetry slamming.

Yeah, I feel ya sibs. When I completed my poetry collection a few years ago I was lucky enough to meet the head of publishing for Canongate Books at a book fare I was volunterring at.

She told me, she liked my collection (I'd given her a free copy in the morning and spoken to her late afternoon) but the only way to get published in Edinburgh as a poet was to be famous on the slam circuit.

I explained I didn't write poems to be used in competitions of popularity, and she agreed it wasn't a very fair system, but it was how things work.

So, I suppose if I had to ask..

What poem, out of all the ones you have on this site, would you read out at a poetry slam, if you had too pick one.

    Sea Monkey Limerick

    by Sibyllene

I once bought a friend some sea monkeys.
He admitted they were kind of funky.
In a week my friend cried,
    'cuz they mated then died;
now we know that sea monkeys aren't spunky.

Maybe they were not approved by the mod who reviewed them or they have yet to be reviewed. I'll go check.

Hellon, there is nothing showing up so maybe you want to try again if you have time? Sorry for the inconvenience. Make sure to fill out all the required boxes/info.
