Yeah, seems to be a mixture of loll and gallop. This reminds me of the word 'galumph', which is a slightly more physical word invented by Lewis Carrol, meaning 'to gallop triumphantly'. I use it all the time. You'd be surprised how many words were invented in the poem 'Jabberwocky' alone. I think the word 'chortle' came from there. Many of the words there don't make sense dictionarially, but make glorious sense nonsensically. Mmm...phonesthemes... |
