A Different way to write an Acrostic

This is a method for writing Acrostics that I use on occassion. I call it, An Alternating Line Acrostic. This is an Acrostic wherein each letter of the title not only has a line written for it, but also, has an accompanying rhymed line, making a couplet, with each letter having its own couplet

    Example:

    Aphrodite!!!

~ Aesthetic pleasing, a most beautiful sight to see,
There's nothing, out there, to compare, to your beauty.
~ Perfection Personified, your beauty, it reigns, supreme.
You couldn't be, more beautiful, if you were, in my dreams.
~ Heralded, is your beauty, in all its aesthetic essence.
When it comes to beauty, you're the, absolute, quintessence,
~ Ravishing, Radiant, Redolent, Rapturous, you're everything that wonderful women should be.
You're Vivacious, Vibrant, and all so lovely.
~ Oceans of beauty, you possess.
Nothing, out there, matches, your loveliness.
~ Desired, by many, enrapturing, amorous, your lure.
You're the picture of beauty, in its every contour.
    - Inviting, Inspiring, Iridescent, and Irresistible, your charms, no one can resist.
It is, like heaven, being mired, in your midst.
~ Titillating, Tantalizing, You're, quite the Temptress,
A seductive siren, using, all her assets.
~ Engaging, Enticing, Enchanting, as one can be, within, your magic, you have, enthralled me.
You're a Goddess, of beauty, I title you, Aphrodite!!!

    Example 2;

~Bewitchingly Beautiful, me, you totally Beguile.
You're fascinating, fervent, and full of feminine wile.
    ~Radiantly Ravishing, you Resonate Rapture.
You're a baffling beauty, by whom I'm captured.
    ~Iridescent, effervescent, and Irrefutably Irresistible,
There's nothing, out there, that can compare to you.
~Taken, by you, time and time again, I am.
By your beauty, I'm left, in astonishment.
    ~Nubile Goddess, Nightingale, so Beautiful,
Each time I see you, I just fall, in love with you.
~Everything about you leaves me, absolutely, Enthralled.
By you and your wonder, I'm, utterly, extolled.
~You take me, to the furthest reaches, of, unbridled, ecstasy.
There's nothing, out there, to compare, to your rhapsody.

Well, that the Alternating Line Acrostic. Good luck in your writing.

Nice post, Robert! It's cool to see someone putting in the time to teach how to put a twist on a classic. I know silvershoes likes to write acrostics, especially when she's looking for inspiration. I'd be interested to see if she has written ones like this!

The style reminds me (and I'm not saying this in a demeaning way) of poems that our teachers would have us write in elementary school. We'd do name poems, where you write your name vertically and think of your attributes that correlated with the beginning letters.

Reminds me of this Office episode:

    Anyway. Thanks for writing.
