Revolution in Egypt!

Mubarak has ruled Egypt for nearly 30 years and today it is very clear, after the inability to control the protestors and situations in the streets in the last few days, is going to an end.

Yes, nobody in Egypt has internet access right now and it's unclear for how long. Twitter and Facebook page first played the key part, but they were blocked on Tuesday and on Thursday evening they have blocked the internet and mobile services all over the country. But people who have a little bit of Internet knowledge will be able to use other services provided by some countries to get around. Also the French Data Network who has helped Wikileaks in the past is giving a dialup modem service to Egypt. The government of Egypt can only control such things within their jurisdiction and since these help are from another country, they will not be able to blocked them.

Now the curfew is imposed everywhere in Egypt and armored vehicles are everywhere as well. I am worried about Norhan. She's living in the capital where huge riots are everywhere. Nema, is from the same city. I tried calling Norhan today and her mobile was switched off.

For those who have sent me PMs regarding Norhan, thank you, I appreciate the concern, let's just pray that nothing will happen to them and that the peace would commence soon.

I'll keep Nor and Nema in my prayers as well as the people of Egypt...

Myryn, thank you for posting this. I had no idea things had gotten so bad. Nema & Nor both know they're in my heart in a time like this. I do pray for them and their families as well as the people of Egypt. Please keep me informed if you hear from Nor.

Thank you everyone for your concern, it is greatly appreciated :)

Yes Alfred, this is the beginning of a new era in the history of politics in the Middle East and other Arab countries that most of us are waiting for.

Earlier this month, Tunisian people succesfully overthrown their president for 23 years. And I heard he has fled to Maltese Islands, and atm Tunisia is without a leader. Actually this would be the first revolution in modern history of Arab countries. And yes Alfred, Yemen and Jordan are said to bring another revolution in the Arab world.

Do any of you wish to predict US involvement if this escalates?

    ^^

i doubt, this is a revolution because these people been bottled up for REAL LONG, and it's time to shake up these stupid liars, and fake leaders, and remove them from their positions.

This is only the beginning, it started in Tunisia and the president was forced to resign and now he is hiding in Saudi Arabia.. after several citizens burned themselves in the STREETS because they couldn't handle it any longer.. Well it worked, and they resigned.

It started their, and now the other countries are tying ti release their voices and act.. but seems in Egypt they want to use all the dictatorial actions now so Egyptians find no way to contact each other and make real big demonstrations.

I really hope Nor is fine, she been gone for good..I thought it was for her exams..but these actions started days ago..and she nema and the Egyptians MUST stay in out prays, they need it like they never needed anything..

In lebanon they are showing some support for
Egyptians, we protested yesterday in-front of the Embassy of Egypt and we swore a lot for that president ;) ..we will do this daily, until something new happens, and things change ..

Actually we will start protesting in an hour again infront of the Embassy of Egypt.

That is a very sensitive subject Hellon. Here is what Wikileaks responded to this issue.

"Wikileaks: The United States Government is BFF with Hosni Mubarak" though now it seems that the media tends to show an opposite view.

You talk about misinformation donald ?which YOU have actually, I was IN lebanon, no one attacked Israel..you can't tell me what you heard on news, because i SAW LIVE not on tv nor on news.

    this :

In that 30 days Israel drove 20 miles into southern Lebanon ridding the rocket sites and killing over 700 Hezbollah.

    ^^^you need updates.

Rocket attacks were reduced from 100 to 200 a day down to 10 or 20. Iran pushed for peace as to not embarrass Hezbollahs failures.

    ^^^

by the way, Isreal announced on TV that THEY want an intermission, and started to back down..

I can't believe how funny this is, Irony is , You don't even know why they attacked us lol..

Hezbollah rockets were not attacking Israelis military but Israeli civilians.? really ?

    ^^^
with all my respect this is WRONG, and BS, and has nothing to do with what really happened.

Isreal attacked lebanon and killed millions of kids and women, because we prisoned a soldier who entered the boundaries ILLEGALLY..

every right to enter lebanon really ? LOL you mean every right to kill millions of people and children, for one soldier ?

    ya that is very sensical..

let me show you who killed the civilians..

    okay lets watch ..

they only know how to kill children : title of this video :

WATCH how Isreal killed OUR civilians !

"hitting schools and refuge and peoples buildings and houses is not a war , its a killing operation"

^^this shook the WHOLE world, and you stand there and tell me why they attacked lebanon, and i wish you even was right.

if you don't wanna bother to watch, or open the following pictures, then I think no one should talk about things that they did not see by their own eyes. like you are doing

mmm the pictures speak well right ?
is that how they were defending them selves, Mr donald , we were sleeping when Israel attacked lebanon, and hizbolah wasn't throwing rockets there, I was in this country and still am when this happened and finished. you watched news, and that makes ME and what I have more credible. They attacked us to take one soldier back, knowing that in the prisons of Isreal there are still hundreds of labenese people kidnapped when they were in south lebanon and they refused to return them.

Few days before they attack us for the soldier, they kidnapped an old man, and when they entered the boundaries again, we prisoned the soldier, just like any other country would do..

difference is, we did not kill millions and millions for a soldier..

And I do not care what you think or believe, for one reason, you lack the truth which i saw by my own eyes.

Israel will not make the middle east one huge sand box, because Israel is a huge box of crap and corruption, and future is standing between us. We will see

NOTE: they even announced that they did not expect to face what they faced when they ATTACKED lebanon, and admitted the loss that they faced and disappointment despite how much damage they caused us, and You stand there and tell me about hezbollah being embaraased. you need new channels.

Oh and for you and for everyone else :

I dare you to be able to watch this one TILL the end..or to tell me after watching it..they were defending NOT attacking to kill and invade, then you are telling lies to yourself..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YheO4vcKuiA&feature=related

this is a video with some phrases in Arabic, don't mind them..just see the civilization of Israel...

the following link is for Israeli kids before jully 2006/preparing for the war in lebanon ..KIDS, writing messages on ROCKETS, and bombs for the children of lebanon, who will be hit and killed and teared apart by these rockets..

ain't that a very sweet way to defend their selves from the untrue facts that you gave us in your post !

Can you see how they are feeding hatred to these kids..?? so if they were being attacked..how did they bring up these kids to take their time and write for the Lebanese children these messages on the rockets..

ya they look like they are full of fear.

  • Ingrid

It's easy to manipulate children into thinking other countries are inhabited by monsters...hell, it's even relatively easy to convince grown ups of the same, provided you own the media and only allow "reviewed"news to be broadcasted on the national radio/ TV/ etc...I know that in some parts of the world people do not know how to read/ write at all, let alone own a TV or a PC. Just think about how easy it would be to convince such people of facts they cannot, in any way, verify..and manipulate them for your own gain;)

  • Sunshine

Billy just because i am correcting the wrong "facts" that been told, doesn't mean i am saying its yours or MY responsibility..

he posted untrue stuff, and all i did was "correcting".

    that doesn't make me hateful
quoted :" let's stop being hateful to each other."

lebanon is a very small country, to say they killed 700 from Hizbollah or whatever so, they only killed children, bombed schools and refuges ..and more refuges.

I don't attack you and I never did, I just spoke truth, and gave proofs.. where are the proofs about isreal..I mean why would any one defend their reasons behind attacking us when they admited them on TV, but obviously not where others live.

.lol.I did not watch tv when Israel attacked, I saw it live.

I heard and saw..I did not read and watch media..

It gives me the chills ( and I mean: I am sitting here with goose bumps all over) to know you have to live there, Nana:( To you this is not just a conversation, but cold hard reality..I so feel for you and the millions of other innocent children/ youngsters that have to grow up under such conditions:(

  • Sunshine

What would you do if I even show you what's happening in Palestine, I am sure like 100 % sure,..no body outside middle east is allowed to receive or play these videos on their TV channels, I am sure what we see and know, many of those who live outside don't know nor see.

Even in some eastern countries, the pro- Israeli Arabian leaders lock up the truth, to brain wash or forbid their citizens from knowing the real truth.

and that's why these revolutions are happening, not for any other reasons..ppl are waking up, and daring to make a move..they are sick of how they are living and how they are being treated.

I receive emails from new-york times about recent events, like the ones in Egypt and Tunisia..and what's funny, they always reword things the way they want, unlike what I previously saw by my own eyes...

I am not moaning about what happened in Lebanon, I only gave these evidences, because untrue things been said ..so I offered some proofs.

  • Sunshine

Yes exactly, the copy they email me, is from what they show YOU, it's how I start to find out the real truth.. i see both sides, and then check by my own eyes..

all is twisted and reworded.. but not a a deal lol :P everything comes to an end..as i said.

It looks like Mubarak won't be getting a check from the US

The ceiling cap comes up for a vote in march and the right have vowed to attack the government by cutting government spending. Bush has trashed the United Nations and wars cost money. The problem of unstable relations with Israel was addressed at some point and Egypt is one of the few Arab Nation that has honored a treaty that their leader signed. Our press is given me the impression that it is the economy rather than the alleged genocide against Arabs that the mainstream media does not talk about much
As protestors continue to flood downtown Cairo as part of an anti-government uprising, Egyptians here in the city are calling for international support.

Analysis: USA Should Strengthen Connection With Arab World
View full analysis from SUNY experts, who say the current political protests in Egypt and in Tunisia provide a perfect opportunity for the United States to strengthen its connection with the Arab world.
The Alliance of Egyptian Americans and the Egyptian Association for Change held a rally Saturday outside the United Nations.

Many say they are proud to see their countrymen stand up for their freedoms.

In the midst of the anti-government protests, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has fired his cabinet but has refused to step down himself.

"No matter how far we are we're still going to support. That is where our roots are from and that's where we're going to continue to support," said one Egyptian New Yorker.

Donald, you forgot to add that the world also followed the same event in the Philippines that happened in 1986. At one time Marcos was one of the world's most powerful dictators. He consolidated power by manipulating public opinion, stealing elections, perfecting the arts of political patronage and bribery. Arrests and assassinations kept the public living in fear which were happening in Egypt for the last 3 decades.

Many people around the world rejoiced and congratulated Filipinos for their sense of bravery or valour.

Right now the government is still fragile and flawed, but regained the freedom, national pride and the will to get the country growing.

And by the way all can show me all day long what they want and I can show you all day long what I want you to see. YouTubes are useless crap.

    ^^^

as Bob said, not when you actually saw it by your own eyes, despite that, reminds me of how did you get your information regarding this :

Rocket attacks were reduced from 100 to 200 a day down to 10 or 20. Iran pushed for peace as to not embarrass Hezbollahs failures.

    >>>because we watched Tzipi Livni LIVE at the end of Jully 2006 ( the current Israeli Opposition Leader and leader of Kadima, the largest party in the Knesset..etc), when she announced that the Israeli Army is no longer capable of fighting against our forces (army and Hezbollah :) )..despite the reports by the Israeli army admitting the loss and disappointment, regarding the spirit of these fighters..
we really should step out and see farther..we can't live in fairy tails..

there is no gain in defending someone who already admitted their actions..or failure..or whatever infront of the whole world, just because in some regions in this "whole world" it was not displayed or heard of.

    -----

Back to the real subject, although really it's all connected in a way and another, those who stole and made these corruptions will not represent the revolutionists ..since they ran away from prisons they are "robbers" ..but they have a case and they have a purpose, and I know that the president will resign soon, well obviously he is waiting to kill some more citizens (conscious!!).. But they never stood up the way they did now and since they stood that way, I doubt they will sleep without achieving their aims.

I will never misjudge the capabilities of "angry people when they are rightful" ..

The same arguments that perpetuate th jihad world. Who indecently have adopted this tactic as an excuse to kill westerners because they are at peace with Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt?. Jihad will use this I have no doubt in my mind at all. And talk is growing through out th world among middle eastern experts. Not me alone

    why?

Simple, it is not really hard t get this, they are crazy insane stupid psychos!! If you are a real muslim you are taught that you can't kill any living soul, for ANY reason. So to consider them Muslims it's silly and stupid..I don't care what they believe in and why; they are not MUSLIMS..they have their own Islam which doesn't represent those who love peacefully with others all around the world..and that's why they keep hiding !! Do you know where their houses are ? no no body knows, they are fake..maybe you don't want to believe that but they aren't real Muslims..

Islam teaches you to learn how to accept ALL religions, and all people. To treat others regarding what's inside not what color they are and what name they hold. I don't know what they are promised these who kill westerns..because in USA there is a very huge % of muslims who are living peacefuly with Americans, and they never hide. these are Muslims.

However in Egypt, people never wanted peace with Israel, but the president did..few are those we felt it make sense. But to convince me that you are ready to shake hands with someone who executed your poeple for a gd while; it would be foolish and funny. TOO late to forget; forgive past fine but..to forget..damn. lol. We should not make wars, nor fights..we should just stay aside. I will not ask for revenge and I do not call for fights with Israel; I ask for justice and for Israel to stay away...and leave us alone. No peace and deals and bla bla..

why ? cause I am honest; my people are honest; and are not going to coat sugar their opinions .. we WANT peace, but we just don't want relations with Israel.
    --------------------------------
And you asked why picking Israel for the videos ..
    Personally I picked Israel as response to untrue things told;

    such as :

Israel had every right to go into Lebanon in order to protect from rocket attacks. Hezbollah rockets were not attacking Israelis military but Israeli civilians

    ^^^

I only gave these videos and pictures; to show what I really did see , what I heard on news LIVE..just wanted to correct these misinformation

In each country; there is torture and killing, each country lacks real justice, hatred and people killing each other..but but but! I did not SEE Massacres in USA by Egyptians (example) ; or the Australians bombing the refuges and the houses over the heads of other countries citizens .
I did not see American soldiers killing children groups by groups.
what I saw from Israel through all this history, till I was born, and as i grew up..I saw massacres, killing operations...I saw Mass executions for FAMILIES..I saw unbelievable torture, I saw the instinct of animals for the first time wildly in the souls of HUMANS (Israeli), who lacks all the needed senses, feelings and mercy that makes us Humans.

No matter how much corruption I see everyday in this world, and monstrosity..no one will ever reach the wild abilities of Israel, and no one will ever have the ability to cover their ugly history (that they are Proud of, and call it strength) .

    -----

I too have seen revolutions sleeping back aimlessly, but personally I believe everything that has a purpose, everything that sends a clear message is not wasted ever. We will never as (people) rest, because even the good leaders, transform when they gain power and money.

Funny; as if they will live long enough to spend their powers and money..I have not seen anybody who had knowledge about the day that they will die at..such a shame to live in our modern world and not be able still to know that no one can ever take their powers and riches back to their graves.

but that did not stop and won't stop anyone from doing bad, harmful actions, and won't stop the hatred..Sharon the previous Israeli President, been in comma for years now; and he got nothing from the cruelty that he made and the destruction that he caused. It did not help him wake up, nor live immortally .

the whole thing is a funny video game, on earth. Were we keep killing each other as we listen to our leaders blindly, and defending others who actually sooner or later will cause us ALL harm.

thank god, i make sure to see by my own eyes, before I judge or even say a word about anything that I am not sure of; I am not ready to be anyone's toy.

And btw there is no need for the forces of the Egyptian military!! It's a very peaceful demonstration today in :Tahreer Square" they are just asking him to step down; no violence no nothing!..

with 80 million people..this country will in a way and another if they won their goals, will effect the whole Arab world..in a good way.

the prime minister of Israel and some other countries; JUST announced that where Egypt stands now, will no longer be where it will be standing tomorrow.
with some concerns..but theey did not talk about fearing a war or something..

    well..
It's time to embrace the will of the people, and the will of the people do not want this president.
And yes USA is not embracing the government of Hosny mobarak as it once used to,
