Report Cards for Mods!

You're both right, I remembered wrong and I apologize for the confusion. I should double check my facts before posting.
Illum didn't ask to be demoted, he asked us to make a decision. We decided. We demoted him because he wasn't an active enough mod, nothing against his person. He was on several times a month and after the fiasco, he was gone for an entire month altogether. No one seemed phased when he was demoted... until now.
It was a unanimous decision.

Sherry, Joe and Ann weren't/aren't active either and they disappear for weeks at a time if not more. why Alfred in particular? why no one afterwards and no one before?

No no I didn't forget the unanimous decision part... I forgot Illum didn't ask to be demoted. For some reason I thought he did, but he didn't. I had to go back and check.

The others you mentioned do not disappear that long. They leave for a few days at a time at most. They do behind the scenes work. Before? I don't know. Afterward? Well as you see Ann has left because she was no longer active enough.

Have it ever came to your minds though that maybe he had some sort of trouble at that time? I mean Alfred was fairly active before, so didn't that give him some kind of excuse? I mean we all from time to time take sometime off, especially when angry or wanting to think about something.

You should make charts from now on. It would be good encouragement for them to be extra active ;)

Alfred was upset and took off for a month because mods were talking about how to get him off the mod squad. We wanted him off the squad because he wasn't active enough. The inactivity started long before the talk about him did, so your possible explanation doesn't quite fit, you see?

Yes I think what happened was perhaps unfair. It certainly seems a bit unfair now. At the time, it seemed like the right action to take. As I said - unanimous.

Yes of course there is a chance. Members should continue to voice their thoughts.

Poetess - Don't be afraid to voice your opinion; it's not something you have to apologize for. I don't think anybody was annoyed with your statement, but even if they WERE, that doesn't make it illegal, and you should still say it.

Bob, I have no idea if you are right, as I have never been a mod and I actually don't ever plan on being such, but I still think they do halfway descent for not even having a administrator. :] Still, I can see what you are saying. Hmmm...

I still do think the boards are more active now than they had been for a year or two previous. I remember loooong stretches of time where there was, oh.... maybe a birthday thread every week or so? Now we're seeing more life, particularly in this forum, but it also seems to be leaking back into forums like "Relationships" and "Other." Granted, some of the activity has stemmed from conflict, but not all. I would, however, love to see more discussion on things like (wait for it) POETRY! And other literary concepts.

I would really shine badly if I see threads like that

I just want to point out, everyone has valid points and if taken with seriousness, we can all as a whole (not just the mods, the members as well) learn a thing or two about how to become better members and moderators.

I would however like to see more members give us a 'report card'.

What the heck...! being a Mod is not a popularity contest, the current team is the best Mods we've had though I'm sad that Britt decided to leave..

Frankly speaking I believe that the whole modding system became a farce once the penalty system came to be... That was when all the good members left sadly...

HAHAHA! No neither one of them has been on the squad for years. The dang page with the mod names needs to be updated by Janis, but that'll never happen.
The mods include: Sher, Joe, Sibs, and me. Ann and Britt stepped down this past week.

I give everyone an A, and it's up to them to keep it.

Every time you make a bad call and stick to it, stubbornly without apology, you move down a mark. Hasn't happened yet, not with the current crew..they are, above being rather attractive...well..is there anything else needed apart from that?
