This thread remains important and we will refer to it regardless of what we decide to do as a site with the concept of an election in the future.

AJ was high up on the nominations and the rest of the mods were 100% for him. That should count for something.

We took your thought into consideration and then discussed who we felt was best for what we need.

As Jane said... AJ had 100% from the mods... that I believe is a first in the history since I have been here.

We weren't necessarily looking for a guy, but that he's a guy was a huge bonus. Now we're a bit more evenly squared off.

AJ is active, sane, sweet, intelligent, rational, honest, and willing. Those are my reasons though I'm sure I could come up with more.

He's good looking too, woo hoo, and young, vibrant, and appeals to the youngsters.

Before Britt stepped down, she said she wanted AJ as a mod. Sibs also said she wanted AJ as a mod. We voted when Britt stepped down but were going to wait a week before putting him in.

Britt came back and we decided not to wait a week. We went ahead and did it.

The Mod squad would have a number of candidates picked out prior to this. A waste of time maybe, makes interesting reading though...

Actually, what you all do not realize is that we listened to you loud and clear.

We had two people selected... AJ and another member. We went with who we thought would fit and who also was on the higher end of the votes.

We NEVER said that who ever gets the most votes will become a mod.... We ALWAYS said that we will take ALL nominees into consideration

Now.. stop and think about this... we want to keep an ODD number of mods... even Bob knows that... do the math.. mmmm....

I said that we like to keep an odd number of mods... with Britt back that puts us at an even number.

We are discussing adding another mod, but not right this second.

I didn't think it was wrong and I still don't. Quite honestly, I'm taken a back that there are members giving us problems about this.

We wouldn't have picked AJ if he was low on the list of nominations, but he was very high up there. The other high up there candidates have not been ignored indefinitely, they are still very much on our radar for potential mods. We need a bit of time for AJ to adjust to his position before adding a 7th mod. It will go smoother that way.

Like I said, please be patient. The members are not being ignored. This nomination thing is completely new, you should all be happy we haven't shot the idea down and we're giving it proper consideration. It's still a work in progress. Meanwhile, we needed this 6th mod to come in NOW and help us.

I can understand the drama being caused if AJ were a questionable character and if there were any clear arguments against him... but honestly, it was all either positive or nonexistent. Nothing negative.

Sheeessse Bob i wasn't referring to the appointing of mods, where did i say that?, more about you acting off your own bat as a Mod, in particular the rule changes instigated a year or so back when we were all asked to contribute and then completely ignored by you. Now that was a bigger waste of time!

It is NOT a fake election, but it hasn't been instilled yet. We will perhaps use the election for the next mod added and then hopefully from here on after. When we know for sure if we are going to use the election system or not, it will be made clear.

How is it that promises were broken in this situation? There were two parts to this, nomination and acceptance. I was the most highly nominated person that accepted the nomination.

We said we would pull from the members with the highest nominations.

If you guys are upset that YOUR favorite didn't win, sorry. That's not how this works.
