We, as mods, are bringing back the penalty box for those who wish to continue on with violating the rules or nagging on someone else to a point of harassment.

It is time we cleaned house.... so here we go!

If you are placed in the penalty box then the time differs on a case by case status.

The posts should be back up when the members are reinstated after their stay in the penalty box.

Treat people like kids, and they will act like them.

This idea has no merit to it at all. It'll become a celebrity status badge for people like Noir and Bob and DVD. So they get a few days, or a week timeout. What do you think they'll do when they come back? let me break it down for you.

Noir - will just be slightly more sideways and clever about how he insults people, but he won't stop with the petty jibes and inflammatory posts. He never has.

Bob - will get up in arms, blame Sherry and probably necro bump old threads showing how fucked up things are. He is a prophet of Doom now, you've just armed him with pissed off juice.

DVD - who knows what he will do, but it won't be good for the website, probably write really shitty mini poems about his "rights".

I'd like to assume they all recieved PM's giving them final warnings, I know I didn't when I was put in the Penalty box. It didn't calm me down or make me think you mods were handling things in a good way.

Seriously? This is a load of crock. Remove it.
This is just more effort and confusion with little benefit. The people being penalised are probably adults who can handle themselves and are actually having fun. As for the rest of us, we can take it or leave it as we wish. It ain't a big deal, get real.

You know the real people who need chill-out sessions? Mods. Ain't it the truth? Give yourselves a break and go on leave for a while.

This website is doing great. The spiciest dishes need the oil to be hot and spitting.

Most of those that were put in the penalty box have responded to me email and said they deserved it.

I expect far less drama when they return. There is one who has went way over board and will not be returning.

Just when this site seemed to be getting kinda active again, you all go and pull out this piece of crap.

It's this idea, and others like it that made people move away from P and Q, don't goof up the party.

I understand you need to moderate people sometimes, but there is warning system in place for that, and clear rules for conduct, I suggest you use those and dump this garbage.

We are not out to stop any activity, but clear name calling, harassment, and instigating or egging on a verbally abusive argument will not be tolerated.

As usual, I was asleep when it all went down, so I don't really know what happened..but I do feel it was all building up towards some kind of finale..those who are gone now were all so fired up and not willing to stop what they were doing..I think I would have called for a time out too, Kevin..when they leave you no other choice..

You suspended some members for only god knows when because they had some sort of conflict? and not only that, but you somehow permanently suspended one of them because the way he answered in a PRIVATE email. private, for god's sake, where we can not know what was said and he has no chance of speaking for himself? CALM DOWN... no... no one was suspended for a private e-mail. I said they were all e-mailed by me personally and they all responded that they understood and deserved it....

I don't want this turning into another debacle. All I'm saying is, the penalty box is a very poor idea. Not only does it sound stupid and childlike, but it's not written into the rules, and so, as far as anyone is concerned you can use it as you all see fit, outside of the rules.

I'm sure we all remember how that method of moderating effected things.

Noir, DVD, Michael and Bob all deserved to be moderated, maybe even banned, you'll notice I'm not arguing with you for taking action against them...long overdue.

I am calm, Sherry. The only one not returning is due to the fact that he accumulated to many points and the site suspended him.

I prefer the box instead of banning... this way they have a second chance.

So it's the box or banning? I prefer neither. I prefer you guys look more into some real issues (I somehow got the impression you have lots of those?) than how members are addressing EACH OTHER especially when neither one of them asked for your interference.

Amanda, yes, it can still be tweaked... no one said that it is perfect, but we are working on it.

Nor, we have a lot of things we do and some times it might help if you would stop fighting against us all the time.

It would help if you work on them then and stop trying to control people's behavior and opinions on here as if you have nothing else to do.

as for a start you could try making clear rules about such penalties before enforcing them and not experimenting with the members on impulse.

I don't like warnings, Sherry, and frankly I don't care if anyone is disappointed in me or not. I don't post her for anyone's approval. If you give penalties now for stating opinions, disapprovals of a certain decision or ''disappointing'' you (rather than breaking rules) then do. Somehow I think this wouldn't be surprising.

Because it wouldn't be just applied on only those members, Sherry, it will be applied on others in the future and who knows for what or for when. as I said, I don't like the idea of members disappearing especially without clear rules and the fact that it's all dependable on some Mod's discretion.

It would be applied to all members if so needed. We as mods can not predict what some one will say or when so that we can not answer.

Oh my Geez, I think if some of you would have seen exactly what was said last night as far as the posts went with name calling, degrading anothers religion, personal attacks and such, you would not complain that those people are temporarily suspended, matter of fact you might hope for permanently. It is indeed disheartening to come on these boards and see the drama unfold like preschoolers or something. I for one have not been active enough on the boards because of the drama that is consistently brought on here with peoples personal vendettas against another. I applaud the Moderators for finally taking a step to do something about the non-sense. One of the posters knew they had crossed the line and even said they were expecting to be suspended on the thread. If they themselves knew they had crossed the line then it should have been so obvious to the other posters that crossed it. With all due respect to the ones who think otherwise, the mods were implementing a rule that you all know is really there. Do not think for one iota of a millisecond that anyone should be able to come on here and voice their opinions that belittles someone else without getting reprimanded in some form. We all fear for it everyday if we admit it, we come on these boards and know that something we might say could just be the thing that sets someone else over the edge. People are so touchy and you never quite know how to display your emotions over the internet. It is my belief that when someone attacks my beliefs, morals, standards or opinions is to come out fighting no holds barred. To simply disagree with the thought is something else, but to attack it is cowardly and demeaning to yourself. It is no wonder that more people don't come on the boards with their own opinions, they have a fear of being attacked and are not the debaters of every post, unlike others.

I RARELY ever, and I mean RARELY go on the main boards..its been years simply because of the arguing and quite frankly i just get annoyed just reading stupidity sometimes so I stay away lol...I love my club and I just stay in there all peaceful and safe haha...

What I was wondering, and I really don't know, does locking a thread to nothing still? Or completely removing the thread do anything? rather than a penalty box?..Or do these childish people just start a new thread with the same arguement? If they have things to say why dont they say it through private messages rather than riling everyone up?..I dont get peoples
