hey, alexis, don't get depressed about politics, unless you're a politician. There's no reason you should get depressed about things you can't control.

But to all you hypocrites who say they "hate" Bush, and didn't vote Kerry, should all be ashamed. There is no way Nader would have ever won. Nader is the guy who got turned down by all the Ivy Leagues and had to go to community college instead, and is still really bitter about it. You only like him because he's pro-marijuana. Then again, so was Kerry.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with John Kerry. Well, except obvious lack of beauty or charm. So he's not a pretty boy. He looks like a Frankenstein monster etc Shallow, anyone?

Kerry had lots of policies, he took many stands, completely opposite Bush. He put his standing with his church on the line in support of Pro-choice.

The only thing Kerry was vague about was his stance on gay-marriage. He did say he supported civil unions, but dodged the rest. But, the last time I checked, this wasn't a very popular (nor relevant) national issue. I'm sorry, I'm all for equal rights, but I think issues of the war, the economy, and the like far outweigh those of who you can marry. Call me crazy.

Kerry could have been a great leader. We saw that in the first debate. He had a plan. Unfortunately, the Democratic Party relied on the voters to research this plan for themselves, and focused the bulk of their speeches attacking Bush. This would be their downfall.

The party needs to change. The Democrats have been running the same campaign since FDR, and they're not united at all.

And the Clintons are inbedded with the Bush family now. Have been for some years.

Kerry may have been fine on a domestic level but I seriously doubt his international credentials. At least with Bush when he says he's going to do something he does it.. to the letter and without prejudice.

You think things are bad on world wide scale under Bush? Thank your lucky stars that Kerry's not sitting around a table with the North Koreans.

wow i so agree. People just need to get over it, Bush is our president not Kerry. Kerry in my opinion would have destroied this world, he is too power hungry. Bush is doing all he can to do whats right for us right now, we should be thank full, not sitting in front of our computers have internet arguments about him. People who live in this country are teh ones who vote him in, and yes not every one wanted him, but look at the past, MOST of our presidents have been great, they are willing to give up a life of their own to run ours, to make it better and keep us safe. I think we should all be thank full. like i said before,if you people hate him so much, then do somthing bout it, dont sit here and just talk about doing somthing, actually do something.
    well ttyl

The only reason, I heard, Bush won the election the first time around was because his family is into politics. His family is rich. They have control. I don't really see the purpose in voting really, because technically, it doesn't even really count, so why were you insulting me for encouraging my mom to vote for Nadar? My Mom did not vote for Nadar because he happened to be pro-marijuana. Neither of us just approved of the selection. She wanted to vote, though, so i asked her to vote for Nadar. Don't be so self-assured about me if you don't know me please....

Woo hoo, go Icognito for President! Wait- You're Australian. That's not gonna work. Well, unless the Governater does something...which would be so cool!

but, no, I'm really not that bitter. I actually like Bush, as a person, the Prodigal son of a rich family (yes, I can identify, I also make broad generalizations, sorry), and I think he's a fairly good president. Is he the best? No. Maybe. History will tell, though probably not according to any history books. Is he the worst? Hardly. I voted for the guy who more closely represented my values. but the fact that he lost makes little difference to me.

My reaction this year upon hearing Bush had been re-elected, was simply, "Oh."

The business community breathed a sigh of relief when Bush was re-elected. And this time he got the popular vote.

yurp, it makes sense on the everyday American's pocket too. most swing voters vote on how the election will put more food on their table.

He knows what's best for our country. sometimes the reason for things he does aren't totally obvious (Iraq) but you have to realize that he has more intelligence about what's going on than any of us do. Even though it hurts so bad b/c a lot of my friends are going to the war includin the guy i'm in love with i just have to trust in God that he allowed the best guy for the job to be put into office

  • Bret Higgins

why cant he/she be presedent....i mean arnold s. is govoner to cally isnt he?

You have to be born American to be President.

There are murmurings of changing the ammendment that states this (dont ask me which one it is, it's American and I'm not) in light of Arnie's ever growing popularity.

you people dont seem to understand that the war was not avoidable. God you guys! i mean there are people over seas right now who are putting their life on the line to save ours, and there are people who think that the war is for nothing? Look at Vietnam, people hated that war also, and many dont consider it a war, but our men were over there fighting, and dieing for us, and what did they get when they got back? alot of crap, they were called baby killers and many more things. Well whats going to happen when our men get back this time? how are thoes of you who dont liek the war going to act? are you going to tell them that you think that the war that their friends, and family died in was not necessary? that the war they were willing to give their lives in was not worth ne thing?Every day that they are over there or are waiting to be sent over there they respect their president adn the choices that he has made, why cant you guys do the same? He is our president and we should be showing him respect, not dissagreeing with what he is doing. I personally dont really agree with many things he has done, but when it comes to the war, i believe he made the best choice, so yeah there's my opinion.

    Violaxcore~
ok good point, BUT, he did think about not going into war, he thought about it alot, and stayed up amny nights thinking bout it, he also called former presidents and other important people who helped him make that choice. The soliders may not be being treated that bad now, but if this war continues like this and people continue to not cupport them, because the number is growing fast, then they will be. Look at our history, the soliders in Vietnam were not treated badly at first either, but look what happened. And also Bush did try to avoid the war, the White house just doesnt let out every little thing that happenes.
    Bianca
PS~It's hardly his fault that the countries that claim to be our allies, do not support us.

  • bianca

again good points, but do you knwo for a fact that he rushed into it? that he didn't consider the facts, many of which we dont know? And how is all his fault that people in the other countries hate us? most of that started because Clinton screwed them, now they take it out on Bush.
but i agree with your views on the troops.
    Bianca

  • bianca

they did go in with a plan. It jsut turns out that the plan was mad efor thge wrong reasons. We thought that Saddam had WMD, so we went in wanting to take them out. We had evidence that there was WMD. Just because we didn't fine them doesn't mean they weren't ther to begin with.
9/11- it was a horrible thing and NEVER should have happened.i am really discussted (spelling) that it happened, it probably could have been avoided. If our scurtiy would have been better then maybe it could have been, but no matter becasue they would have just attacked some other way. either way we were going to get attacked. But yes hopefully it has balanced out. But, i still think that the war could not have been avoided and that also we did not rush into it. no one is going to change my views on that, as i am sure that noone is going to change your views on that. although i have to say, i love to debate on this :) as long as its peacfull like this and not so insulting like some of the post before.

Continue your discussion, it's really interesting, I just want to make a point about something said by Bianca.

"PS~It's hardly his fault that the countries that claim to be our allies, do not support us. "

An ally is a friend, a friend's main job is to tell us when we're in the wrong. Just because some countries are allies it does not mean they have to give unilateral support all the time.

  • bianca

    very good point,
i did not mean to imply that our allies should support us in every thign that we do, it is their place to tell us when we are in the wrong, but i think that a friends job is to support us in all that we do, even if they dont agree with it. I ma y be wrong in this opinion, but that is my thoughts.

and also i to seem to get pulled into debates, although, im not complaining. but you both make good points.
    Bianca
Bret~ why is our discussion so interesting? just woundering.lol

  • bianca

o and i also think that we will be leaving some troops there. It seems like the logical thing to do, i mean if we took out all the troops there would be nothing to keep them from being taken over again, and then the war would have been for nothing bascially. I think its a good idea to leave some troops over there.

Cool, just don't go into litigation.

Bugger I just realised I killed the debate I was enjoying so much.

  • bianca

well i really dont know that much bout this stuff, but here gos~
ok i agree with the fact that
"greedy lawyers have taken advantage of the state class-action suit system by filing frivolous cases in places where they know they can win big dollar verdicts. "
    but also i agree with
"more businesses will get away with wrongdoing and fewer ordinary people will be protected."
but the thing is that its hard to say what my opinion on this is because people are taking advantage of the class-action suit, but how do we do ne thing about and also keep ordinary people protected? But personally i think the whole people get discounts on products and not financial settlements is wrong.
    does that make sense?

  • bianca

thats a good point, and a good idea, i agree. That way every one would win sorta speek. When the victim is given that much money its unfair to the government and they are already (as you said) give money for the damages. And lawyers are already given enough, we all know that :P

i am sry that your brother feels that way, but if he and the others there feel that way, they shouldn't have joined. sry but its as plain as that. our soliders are over there training for a better country. that may be how your brother feels but i can tell yuou for a fact that the men in the millitary DO support our president, if they didn't they wouldn't have joined. (most) and yeah it is frightening to be around death, but he signed up for it, and if he cant hanndel it maybe he should apply to be discharged or somthing, because he is a solider and thats what he signed up for. Death. i dont know what part of the millitary your brother is in, but if he dont support our President he shouldn't be in. I ma sry if this sounds rude or whatever, but this is something that i will argue about, because, my family is about millitary, you think having a brother over there is bad?
4 of my cousins are over there,
    my brother was over there,
my dad and uncle were in Vietnam,
my best friends brother(well hes like her brother, and also like mine)
my cuzes ex husband was over there.
and alot more that i could list. plus my sisters BEST friend was in the WTC when they were hit.
And i can tell you for a fact that they all support Bush with his descision to go to war, because they signed up for it. They were asked if they would support our president in times of war and in times of peace. so yes its a bad thing over there, but its NOT Bushes fault. its the fault of thoes around us who decided to attack us and try to kill us. If we hadn't gone to war, Iraq could be bomming us right now, we could all be dead. Again if this is mean or rude, i am sry, it was not meant to be.

well i am sry that your brother and all them are over there and sry also that ur couz died. thats gotta suck, and i guess i can see your point, kinda. but most are like that, support the troopos not bush. but i also know there are facts behind the war the ppl dont know, the only reason i know is because my friends brother is the guard for Bush. the one thats always with him on his right side, yeah. well i have read some of his letters, and know some stuff bout thigns that happened before the war. but yeah, well i have to go so i will be back on tomarrow. Again i am sry for your couz.

Well I'm just glad that I don't have to deal with Bush, me being in Canada and all, but I still disagree with everything he stands for......and our country is being led by a man who kisses bush's a$$....it's said really....

Bush is a dumb fuck I cant believe some idiots actually voted for him, hes a homophobic pig. I hate him

  • bianca

how about telling us why you hate him and state some thing that can actually be considered inteligent? not trying to be mean, but lets TRY to have a debate with out the name calling and all that crap.

~now, The people voted him in because we believe that he is a good enough leader to lead us, that or they just dont want Kerry in there.

"Bush is a dumb fuck" "homophobic pig. I hate him"
    Why do you think this?
i have to say that i dissagree. I think that Bush is inteligent. and i may not like him but i certanly dont HATE him, but i dont have a strong like for him. i think that he hsa some good points(like the no child left behind) but i also think that the way he goes about doing things could some times be better planed. And also better flowed through with.
    What do you think?
    Bianca

  • katie!

Know why I hate him OK. Lets see he sent my Dad my uncle to war. He killed them. Yeh because of him I don't have a dad anymore. But oh well. I'm sorry for the name calling but he makes my blood boil

  • bianca

your dad signed up. He fouhgt for our country, and i am sure that it would not make him very happy to hear you talk like that. But i guess you have some things to deal with. and incase you didn't read my posts above, my family is and has been in wars in cluding this one. and many of my friends have died in this war. so yeah because of SADAMM (however you speel his name) and 9/11 some of my friends are dead, not because of Bush.
