    Winners:

    Yesterdays Phone Conversation
    by Narphangu

"It has beautiful tone and is a stunning piece indeed, and I think it's because of the frequent use of alliteration for it contributes to the impression of this piece which is like waterfalls with a faultless flow :)" (10 pts)

"A poetically written recount of a private conversation, though is relative to most anyone. Loved the insertion of the "coral nails"... somehow I picture most grandmothers with coral colored nails. Exquisite Write!" (4 pts)

    Drench
    by The Prince

"Another piece with a faultless flow, I found the line breaks really effective, not only for its flow but it also brings a level of suspense that makes the reader want to read more." (7 pts)

"What I loved about this poem was the poets ability to take a concept written about often and completely change what is presented in my mind through the vivid use of description. The metaphors are unique, to compare the human body against nature is stunning and yet the poet took this to a whole new level, his stunning description was not only presented in describing the body, it was also present when describing what he was comparing the body to, which in my opinion was a clever way of portraying such distinct images to the readers mind.

I was quite fond of the last two lines, a really clever play on words. What I adore most about this poets work is I can interpret in many different ways. He leaves it open for the audience the relate to the piece and that was again evident within this poem.

I liked how the sexual tension from the poem was sugarcoated by the sweetness and yet through the metaphors it was still evident, still powerful and very passionate.

An elegant write with a lovely tone." (10 pts)

"Voted for this one last week, voting for this one again. Vivid. Hot." (10 pts)

    Abandonment
    by Melpomene

"It's always a pleasure to read and learn new words from this poet. A lot of nominated pieces from her but I think this particular one really stood out. I especially liked the less obvious but engaging metaphors used in the first stanza." (4 pts)

"Emotional story that portrays a heart that has been stabbed more then once. The words leak feelings off the lines and I am really impressed with the metaphors in which this message was given. Very descriptive and stunning with its thought provoking ideas." (10 pts)

    Honorable Mentions:

    Daybreak (double Etheree)
    by Mr Darcy

"Imagery was really strong in this poem and the writer sticked to the form well and the poem flowed really good and held itself with quality even though the form limited syllables, flow, and various other areas. Painted a beautiful picture in my head though and brought back many memories." (7 pts)

    Reversal
    by Britt
"The words were well placed making the poem strong and very profound. Imagery was also well placed in this poem. The emotional side of this poem was interesting as well and seemed to differ a lot throughout the poem but kept to a main root feeling." (4 pts)

    Afterglow
    By Britt

"A lovely little poem. Just one event that happens to many, yet it was made personal by the shy, glittering images that followed. Its gift is its abstract intimacy, told simply with a light, unassuming hand." (4 pts)

"I enjoyed the personal touch of this poem, while it was short it was emotive in the way it presented a bond to the audience. When first reading I thought it was a strange way to be ended. I was first presented with the image of a love that was secret for whatever reason, let it be that the two weren't allowed to see each other or so on, but I felt this wasn't right and so I read it again and that's when I discovered that personal touch to the poem. The fact the poet was indeed speaking of a love like no other between
the two, a love without understanding, a love only found within dreams.

The poem had a playful tone to it, one which I was quite fond of. Some creative images
presented to the mind and I adored the use of the stubble scraping the cheek, very sweet." (7 pts)

Genesis (how I learned about religions)
    by Kevin

"A most thought-provoking poem about a topic that is ever-popular on this site. I love the fluidity of the language and the reversal of the first and last stanzas, which appears to be a favourite technique of this author. The message of this poem wasn't too annoyingly cryptic (which he has a tendency to overdo at times). Instead, it prompted further reading to gain more enhanced meaning from its beautifully-portrayed metaphor. Well done." (7 pts)

    Admonition
    by Dixiedaisy

"The ending of this poem packed a punch. This poem was strong in the way it presented power to the audience. What I enjoyed most about this poem was the writers ability to present many different metaphors into the poem. I spent some time deciphering the symbolism and I must say the depth of creativity was stunning. Such tragic history presented but I liked how it gave knowledge to the reader and a better understanding of things we may not be able to fully comprehend." (4 pts)

    Dust Also
    by Cinda Berard

"Definitely a brilliant write, one the author seemed to write without complication of hidden metaphors and superfluous words. A philisophical journey of expertise. Excellent write!" (7 pts)

    Flushed
    by Melpomene

"As the poems ending states ...
"I was just no match for summer."
I too, felt I was just no match, though be it not for summer but for the pure poetic genius this write was able to perfect. Absolutely flawless write!" (10 pts)
