Well i mean, its statistical, its not going to fit every atheist and every theist 100% of the time.

and morality is completely relative, it just depends on how you define it. if morality is paying tithes and worshipping a god then atheists are pretty well screwed. if morality is not beating your kids then id say atheists are not as inherently evil as some people would depict.

    its relative.

The Balance of The Heart, Soul & Mind" reflects the humanness of us all, and the Divine Redemption, which frees us from ourselves. I see creation as an ongoing process. Destiny opposes random events but what does not kill me will make me stronger. I was once very infatuated with an outlaw that spent lot of time in prison and in an attempt to gain a parole she wrote that the laws of the land represented freedom to her. Love of laws and rules comes more natural to some than others and it is all relative. I have only met a hand full of people that profess atheism . Some find it easier to forgive Osama Bin Laden for his alleged involvement in the trade center murders than they would to forgive the popes in their alleged cover ups. I believe hatred and love begin in the spirit before this vice and virtue can ever enter the mind and heart and TS125 is correct it is all relative. Amanda would probably agree that we some times have the urge to share 'Iron Clad Lessons' and Kevin was a PnQ priest once

Sometimes I feel like this site is hanging on a thread and on the end of that thread we are hanging
We may live to miss each other

I hope no one takes the title too seriously...

Its too relative that there are a lot of schools of ethical thought you must first choose from.

There's Utilitarianism, Consequentialism, Deontology, Hedonism, and not to mention the whole law of ethics written in religious texts (whatever religion that is)

You must first define which of the schools you are talking about. I mean if your using the framework of Hedonism, then by all means Charlie Sheen might be moral.

I pretty much don't care. What you do is your own business. If you ask where I fall, I'd say under none except my own principles. It doesn't work well when it comes to social activity where you are bound by whatever rules the culture you are in is, but then there's moral psychology to compensate for that. I first know what I desire, see the appropriate (by law) means to achieve it whether I agree or not, then follow the rules and satisfy that desire.

Like I said in the other thread, touching something that is relative doesn't work very well. Even if we stick to our own principles and argue formally and rationally, its either we are all wrong, or we are all right.

Atheism is a belief like baldness is a haircut.

I read a few about Possibilianism, TS, and it might seem I'm close. But I don't want to put myself in any category.

I'm just a living organism, living life. The existence of god is fairly an overrated topic, and a dead one in philosophy. The pragmatists, however, value more the effects of religion in practical cases. Because religion does play a role in molding a society filled with people who have their own beliefs. Beliefs are the root of one's action and to create a well functioning society, the head must maintain a collective agreement to beliefs. But I'm not saying I'm for or against it, its never easy to decide on such big topic without fetting some facts or variables straight first.

Sooner or latter he will face three choices he can be sobered up, locked up, or covered up like Michael Jackson, it is just cold reality.

Everything depends on frame of reference. i think however that torture and child beating are fairly generally agreed upon as immoral...

"Atheism is a belief like baldness is a haircut."

Best quote I've seen here in a long time.

Yeah Bob, I know it's totally out of order on my part, posting a well researched article for consideration, or just sharing something I found interesting.

If you don't like it, don't bump it baby.
