    I've been told
    that people in the army
    do more by 7:00 am
    than I do
    in an entire day

    but if I wake
    at 6:59 am
    and turn to you
to trace the outline of your lips
    with mine
    I will have done enough
    and killed no one
    in the process.

    Nice.

    7:01am

    But your kiss, my dear,
    is a slow death
    that clamps itself
to every nerve of my body
    passing each cell violently
    like a prisoner guard

    and when you think that
    your traveling lips are leaving
    little pebbles of love,
    they actually leave nothing but
    open wounds
    longing to be nursed
    by someone else.

Can't find the author, but I found the poem on this site: http://rileydog.posterous.com/

*add "659-am" without the quotes on the end of that to find the poem.

It's a pretty cool site all around.
