Well this sucks...

My boyfriend's grandpa, one he admired a substantial amount, was burned (cremated) on my birthday. I think I'm more upset about it than he. I just feel I'm in a rut, but I'm not sure why. I didn't actually know the guy, but Mitchell (my boyfriend) talked about him enough...

It's hard when something like this happens, and a bad memory sticks to a good one; especially a birthday or anniversary, because they are personal and you can't help but make it personal. It's hard to get over something like that, my uncle died in the same month as I was born and I don't feel good about it... I think you should do something to help your boyfriend remember him on your birthday when you celebrate it. Remember, it's not your fault... people die eventually, it's how the circle of life continues. Plus he was cremated, not died on the same way, so it has nothing to do with your birthday, try not to link them both.
