    Journey of Pain:

She silently watches her father yell
And tell her mother to 'go to hell'
She sees the slap and piercing rage
Yet she cannot come out of her cage

He holds inside the emotions and tries to lie
Saying everythings alright, theres no need to cry
He takes the knife with bubbling hope
Knowing without it he cannot cope

She pleads for the screaming to finally stop
But cannot bring herself to call a cop
Because they're her family, she will not betray-
Her own blood for justice any day

He smiles while his heart bleeds inside
Drenching the holes of pain he will hide
Until they overflow and drown him whole
Muting the moans from his dying soul

She observes how the flowers bloom
Yet her life is so full of gloom
Everything is ruined.. Everything is shattered
Her heart was never whole, it was always scattered

He hungrily watches the red blood drops swirl down his wrist
The pain comes in spasms, his hand clenches into a fist
But what other way will he mute the pain?
When he has lived his whole life in vain..

Her heart begins to pound as she races out the door
She runs and runs, her feet flying across the floor
She has to get away, and to breathe again
Will she go back? She doesn't know when

He throws the knife and screams in defeat
Quickly making his decsision, he scrambles to his feet
Jumps out the window, and the first tear escapes
He flies through the streets, past blurry shapes

She continues, dodging houses and stores
    Stumbling through open doors
Trying to find the hole to throw herself out
And to end the misery... she has no doubt

He ignores the surprised faces that thought they knew
The true him which was only the picture he drew
But they never cared and they were wrong
It was just the same old song

She remembers the long nights of weeping
Remembers how the agony kept seeping
Reminds herself that there was no way
She was going live another day

He pushes through the tree branches and bushes
Jumping over rocks and twigs he pushes
The last bit of energy he has left in him
And runs faster, further, and the lights dim

She clumsily trips over weeds and sticks
Through spiderwebs, she punches and kicks
Ahead of her she hears a sound
Like heavy feet against the ground

He hears her sobs and slows down
The sadness in it removes his frown
He leans against the last tree
One last stop before he's finally free

She sees him standing and her heart smiles
With every step towards him, the many piles-
Of the past begins to die
She no longer feels the urge to cry

Without a word, he takes her hand
And pulls her through the forsaken land
Past the last tree and into the night
And onto the cliff, calm without fright

They stand at the edge together
    Knowing what they're leaving forever
They close their eyes and interwine their fingers
In the distance they hear music and singers

Down below theres nothing to catch them when they fall
Nothing.. but enough to free them from their walls

She can already feel the wind whistling past her ears
He can already feel the loneliness vanishing with his tears

But at the last moment.. A bird sings out a song..
And everything seems to take too long
They're not jumping off, they're not falling
They're listening to the bird thats calling

Even in a birds song, there is hope and another try
And as the boy and girl sat there, they didnt want to die
They both wanted to live, through the good and bad
And struggle, laugh, love, and be happy and sad

Because that is just what life is all about.
