Monthly Contest

Many have thrown around the idea of a monthly contest. I was thinking what if we took all the winners for the month then let the judges pick from those twelve for a monthly winner.

Do a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Who knows if it view well maybe we can turn it into a yearly contest as well by taking the top three from each month and putting them in a yearly contest with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Granted, the only reward is a thread, but hey... I think it could be fun if we can work everything out.

Who will be 2011's yearly champion?!

For 2011 we will have all the contest winners in the pool from the year ...

In 2012 we will start the yearly break down format.

I like this idea... but what if we opened it up to the members to vote for the final monthly and yearly winner(s)?? There could be a total of say a week (first week of each month) and members could vote once... either to the holder of the weekly.contest or publicly in a thread. That way its not another addition on just judges, and everyone gets a say of their favorite picks? Plus we switch judges every six months :)

Oh, ok. I was meaning it more as a shouted challenge to the masses, but I guess we can start next year, too. ; )

The details on judging is one of the things that would have to be worked out and the tally would have to be kept confidential until the winner was revealed.

Though I do like the idea of the members voting.... Especially on the yearly.

What if you set up an e-mail just for the PnQ weekly, monthly, and yearly contest because of hackers and we can put that e-mail in the rules some place.

Ohhh the email idea is good. Wait, would members email their picks then?

Of course the nominations would not be e-mailed. Just picks and all that good stuff.

So are you suggesting that the weekly contest as is now should go through email?

I think it would be easier for you, but it is your call. I want it to be easy for you and yet if you can not do it for an extended amount of time for some reason then easy to hand over.

Does that make sense. Of course this is just talk right now.

I save everything to Word documents to keep organized, so that's no issue for me.

It is up to you.

This would be very encouraging, especially to the younger members! I am all for it.
