Weekly Contest Discussion

Amanda, I don't think your idea was ignored so much as no one wanted to take the ball and run with it. It will require a lot of organization, so given that we're having to change judges two days from now it just may not be practical yet. Consider this judge change a breather. We have some time now to develop long term solutions.

What Larry said. I rather like the idea of shifting weeks. (I like the idea of a simple shorter term, too... really, whatever works!) We talked about it in the mod room a bit, and it seemed like we'd all be fine with either approach. Larry even set up some Calendars on Google, for if we wanted to use them in the future. Ha, I think this judge switch just sneaked up on us, even though we knew it has been impending for a while. This is probably the easiest approach to use for now. Maybe in this next month or two we could do something like set up a vote, to decide for sure what method we should use!

Everyone's thoughts matter and there have been some nice ideas, including yours, Amanda... I totally did not mean to brush aside any ways of doing things for future consideration, but a temporary decision needed to be made fast! And by fast, I mean it needed to be made a week ago LOL.
For now, let's say 3 months so our new judges have some sort of idea of how long they'll be serving (at most), and now we can continue discussing great ideas like your own.

That's all I meant by it :)
