mood swings

I have really erratic moods swings, how can you tell if it's a chemical imbalance or just normal teen horomones?

ur probly bipolar or something if u see things mayb ur skitso i mean im not straight out saying ppl with mood swings are bipolar jsut my bro was like that...he got so bad he ended up beating me my sister and my mom and we almost had to go to the police.... im betting u dont wanna do that to ur family so id see a doctor jstu incase

Sorry to just jump in:
I also feel like i'm in the same boat as her.. but its not my period, trust me i keep track and i happens when i dont have it, and is 10 times worse when i do... I will be just driving in the car and start bawling and my moms all confused. I have tried cutting, but i feel thats selfish of me to harm myself when people are dying every min.. yes i have been through an anex- stage.. and well i'm just sick of acting happy all the time. And then running to my room and crying my emotions away...

I need advice.. is this normal? I mean is it just a phase everyone goes through in their life??
