Calling all NON-CLUB members!

Don't belong in a club but want to experience some exciting and unique competition in a team environment?

Join the upcoming site-wide, week-long contest, starting next week. You don't need to be a poetry whiz. High scores will be given for simple participation alone. Due its fast-paced nature, I shall have to be both its host and judge. More details soon.

If all this agrees with you, please sign in below to get involved. If there are at least 4 non-club members interested, please think of a name for your team and get ready for some hearty fun!

Hahaha. Good name. It brings luck.

This non-club team will be strong if you're in it, Hellon! I hope other "loners" are interested too!

Also, I should mention that the clubs I have invited to the contest are:

    TC
    PR
    MM
    LTFR
    WTMRIS
    FOP

If your club is not on this list and you would like to play as part of your club, please register your club here, listing the HONEST total of ALL active members (people who log on regularly and contribute to your club- not just those who want to play, but ALL of the regularly active ones, however reluctant they are... again, please be honest about this so the competition is as fair as possible).

Agreed, Hellon. Luckily, I have very thick lips so I should be right.

If there are less than 4 people volunteering here for your team, I might ask some of the bigger clubs for volunteers to this team if they don't mind.

    Wow..this looks fun :)

I don't belong to any club currently.
So Hellon, can I join Sparrow team?
    I'm in.

Sorry HELLON, LTFR accepted me as a member, so I won't be able to be in Team Sparrow...

    In for LTFR

    DETAILLLSSS?

  • abracadabra

Patience, my pretties... All will be revealed within the next day.

Phoenix Rising is the only club that hasn't shown interest so far... I might be messaging their other members directly because I know there are lots of active members nestled in there.

Also, a note to club leaders that you shouldn't be asking for interest in the contest in your clubs. All you need to do is go through your club member list and count the ones that actually access their account fairly regularly and participate in discussion now and then.

So far, it turns out only about a third of most of the registered clubs are actually active, apparantly. Except for WTMNIS, which has a startling 100% activity rate.

HELLON...mmm, I tried, but unfortunately it seems it might be a more efficient option for you to join one of the clubs instead of making a new one up. I don't know of any other non-club members who might have access to this, do you? If you can hustle up a team of 4 somehow, go for it. Otherwise, please select any club, I'm sure they'd love to have you. TC (your recent club) is the smallest team with an active number of 5, so it may be prudent to join it. But up to you. You MUST participate.

Hellon don't listen to abby come to LFTR!
we give cookies everyday there, and it's shinny and yellow. it's sunny 24/7 here. <3

I'm just playing around btw, not advertising or anything

and abby i'm really curious as how to this contest will work, considering the number of people participating.
<3 good job already my friend

  • Britt

If its what I think it is, we played this in TC, and its a TON of fun.

  • abracadabra

    It is, and it is.

Hellon, as I said, please choose any club you like. I am really, really aware of how biased it looks to hold a contest such as this as a member of TC, but I hope you all trust my judgment and the good-natured competition of this contest- it's not official or serious, it's light-hearted and friendly. In a bloodthirsty way.

  • Britt

Knowing the way the contest goes, you kinda can't be that biased... It's mostly on us to participate!

  • abracadabra

Thanks, Britt, that's why I reckon it's mostly okay.

Hellon, I'm sure they'll have you, but I'm not their leader. I can check though.

Thanks, Sylvia. I hope PR can participate in any shape or form, even if it's just as a separate team. Otherwise, I respect your wishes.

    Bagh! YESSS

    We want detailsssssssssss! now Abby!
And oh I have a question....

my club members are all 12 members ok?
and FOP are maybe 26 ....ok how will it work!?

    :-/

their club members are more than my club members.....and so on...how would it be like BAGH just explain! :P:P

    Anddddd hmmmm I'm sooo excited......:O

  • Decayed

Actually, when the club members are less, it would be for your best!!! :p

Because, the probability of having 12 members online is more than that of having 26.

12 can write the 1st 12, then the person who wrote Round #1, can write again Round #13, and so on....

  • abracadabra

    Not quite.

If you have entered a poem for a particular round, you can actually enter another poem within the same lap AS LONG as you wait a certain number of rounds.

This "certain number" depends on how active your club normally is. Eg. if your club only has 3 active members, then you only have to wait one round. If there are 7, you will have to wait three rounds. And so on.

That's why I first asked all the club leaders to send me their list of active members, to make this contest as fair as possible.

  • Decayed

So, indeed, if number of members is less, it's better...

Ah okay, so even if we are 14 members, one member can submit the second poem in one lap after 6 members?

  • Sunshine

No nothing lol edited, got it.

  • abracadabra

You got it! Check out your team's thread (about to post it) to see how many members are on your team and the "wait" number I have given you (in the "how to play" section).

  • abracadabra

It will be in the fourth dot point in the section. It takes a little while to get the hang of it, Nana! Don't worry, but let me know what you don't understand.

  • Sunshine

Na i edited my post, got it all! thank you XD

  • Decayed

    Question:

if we are 14 members, and I wrote in Lap 1 the Round 1, i can write in Lap 1 Round 7? Wait every 6 rounds in the same lap?

EDITED, ok I read our club rules and got that :P

  • abracadabra

You would go Lap 1 Round 1, then 8 (you have to wait for 6 other poems in between), then Lap 2 Round 2, then Lap 2 Round 9 and so on. You must always wait for at least 6 other poems from other members (if six was your team's "wait number").

Unless, of course, another team member takes your spot because they're sick of waiting for you. I wouldn't blame them. This is a race and there is very little time for strategy.

Question, why do all MMs sleep when I'm wide awake? I'm all ready with my sweat bands, sweat pants and even some pom poms but no one to share the adrenaline with!

  • abracadabra

Ah yes, the Australia syndrome. I hear ya, Mel. Sweat pants eh? Hot.

Oh, yeah. I'm even going for the one leg rolled up style. Tied them with a piece of rope, they kept on falling down.. Gangsta, I know.

Larry, It is early spring however I'm already questioning why I moved to the Queensland heat. The weather has been pretty hot.
