I have been getting fuh-reaking slammed at work.. I've been working there almost 3 months, have never had a 'busy' day... but this week, now that I have something here to do? DAMN IT.

  • silvershoes

Lol I'll be clogged up with work tomorrow through Sunday.
Wasting the whole day away today on PnQ.

  • Britt

I love being lazy the day before a busy week starts ;)

  • Jordan

Alright. I think I've written more in one day today than I have in some months. I think I should be getting paid or something. :P

Jane was here a bit longer than me today and I applaud her. :)

    Anyone else feel me lately?

This contest is amazing, Abby. I've never burnt my brain out from writing before and it's almost a welcome change.

  • silvershoes

    I'm dizzy. My head.

How many did I write today?

  • Jordan

27-ish. Right there with ya. I think including what I didn't get posted, I wrote 29 or so.

    MASTER SCOREBOARD UPDATED!!!

Behold the power of Happy Hours. Use them well.

***Reminder: Tomorrow's General Happy Hours- be prepared!

4:00-5:00 6 Oct: All entered poems will be worth triple points!

20:00-21:00 6 Oct: The number of rounds to wait will be halved for each team!

I will be sleeping during the 4:00-5:00HH and working during the 20:00-21:00HH.

Best of luck without me tomorrow, TC!

At the end of our first all-club Happy Hour, all scoreboards have been updated.

Congrats to LTFR for taking the most advantage of this ungodly hour for most, with 9 poems being submitted within the hour, totalling 136 bonus points through the triple points deal.

MM, enjoying top position for the past two days has now sunk to third position with LTFR shooting forward and overtaking. Are MM out of juice or are they simply waiting for the right time to pounce with their unused artillery of 3 HHs?

Meanwhile, TC is sitting fat and farting on top of the pile, blissfully satisfied with two HHs well spent. Or so they like to think.

Reminder: All clubs, organise yourselves for your second general HH coming up in approx 14 hours!

  • Jordan

I was asleep for 4:00, but I should be here for 20:00 unless work runs late or something.

I think I'm ready to write another 6000 poems today.

  • Larry Chamberlin

LTFR - I love you guys

  • abracadabra

    Please note:

The bonus points in brackets next to your total are extactly that- bonus points.

Eg. If you were in Happy Hour using Deal #2, where all scores were tripled, and your poem scored a 7, then 21 points will go towards your team's total with 14 points being counted as "bonus".

I hope all clubs are getting ready for the next sweat session in a few minutes!

As dawn breaks over Mid-East land
this tired Texan bids all goodnight
with thanks to Abby for putting on
    stunt that makes friendships tight
even though my product is bland
from brain drained of all that's bright
yet finding fellows revel in nutting on
idiotic fun makes pain feel right.

Hahaha... indeed, Larry. I hope your heart is not attacky.

Welp...I've got a ton of poems to score....later tonight.

Well done, all! The Marathon is over half way.

****NEXT GENERAL HAPPY HOUR IS AT 17:00-18:00 7 Oct, Deal #1 (triple points for all poems)******

    LTFR, adores you Larry XD

ABBY I want to point out, that regardless of the stress, the heart attacks and the hilarious mess this contest has caused in the clubs :P you actually gave an electric shock for all the clubs (I believe so, at least in my club) where members became way more active, a lot more productive, with higher IQs :P

    Thanks Nana!

    MASTER SCOREBOARD UPDATED.

LTFR continue their surge forwards, with the most entries out of any team so far- once again, taking the best advantage from the second general HH.. FOP is now the highest in poem quality. Well done to all.

LTFR and TC have one personal HH remaining.
FOP, MM and WTMNIS still have three.
    Oooooh...

Remember your next general HH (announced above).

Lose the cocky attitude Jane...or I will like I said before... squeeze those cheeks until you open your eyes in that picture... LMAO

  • abracadabra

    Haha.

I had the upcoming HH listed as Deal #2, but it's Deal #1 (it will be for triple points as stated, and your wait round number will stay as normal).

Keep up the attitudes, teams! Work it, work it.

Yeah, I think this got the vast majority of the active people on here at the same time. How many hundreds of posts have been made in the last few days? It's gotta be a record. We're probably going to crash the server and have to wait a week for Janis to notice.

While the rounds are getting... very familiar... it's interesting to see how forcing us to use the same themes again and again really stretches you poetically. You start thinking "Cats.... dammit." But then you start to run through the options. "What are cats like? What are different kinds of cats? What can be described as cat-like?" Basically, there's an opportunity to be creative, even when you've done the same topic a million times. It's good to know.

Hahaha yes i swear when the contest 1st started, and Larry, Abed and I were planning the rounds, and I was like WTH! I cracked up, it said "there are too many visitors on this page, please try again bla" something like that, so I started tagging them on facebook :P (worldwide panic) :P

He really does respond after all.

I know the same 13 rounds have been a pain, but sibyllene's quote is precisely one of the primary tests of this marathon. Just HOW diversely creative can you be without dropping your quality?

That said... be ready for an update pretty soon.
