    Lap 19
    Round 7
    Insect

    Insect

    From the wall, silent,
    sticky feet clinging
    like a robotic ninja
    to peeling paint.
    Your endless eyes
see all, if only your brain
    were larger, perhaps
    you'd know all, too.

    ROUND 8 ACROSTIC:

    My little buddy, my
    obnoxious pup
    oh, no longer a pup, he's 2
    sweetly barks a light bark
enlightening me, he has to pee.

    Lap 19
    Round 9

Superhero OR mythological being OR movie star

    You were nothing
    but the one who
    always failed to
    hold me up,

    the superman,
    without the super..

    you were just a man..

    Dad.

    Lap 19
    Round 10
    Cooking

I'm whipping up waves of verse
    Popping it in the oven,
too bad it always comes out
    half baked.

    Lap 19
    Round 11
    Nature

I watched you sway in a slow ballad,
your sisters beside you like swans
    who's necks coiled into rhythm,
    Autumn's choreography.

    Lap 19
    ROUND 12
    7 Lines

    I've once gathered the impression
that you'd prefer to gnaw on peppers
than smell the sweet budding blooms -
never will I understand how the desire
    of something dark and broody
will be more appealing than sweetness
How that shows your inner self.

    Lap 19
    Round 13

    Magic..

    he said
    our love missed magic..

    so I took my
    belongings

    and,
    dissapeared.

    Lap 20
    Round 1
    Grandmother

    Omi

Oh, if I could paint your feathers
my mind would never capture your
    indestructable power of will.

    Lap 20

    ROUND 2: 17 Syllables

    My twitching eye
    shows signs of stress
    could this marathon
    be killing me?

  • Melpomene

    Lap 20
    Round 3
    aabab

Summer has appeared a bright blaze,
mini skirts and fluro shirts are the new phase,
gulping sprite in a teenage rush,
for smoking weed is the best of ways
to impress your crush and make them blush.

    Lap 20
    Round 4

    Free

    I like it,
the way its called a "free"
    yet my thoughts struggle enormously
to come up with an effortless thought.

    Lap 20
    ROUND 5 - SQUIRREL

    I once witnessed
    a squirrel
run away with a golf ball
    that I hit, obviously terribly.
I chucked my club at the tree
and my golf ball was returned -
    two bite marks now symbolize
    how terrible I am
    at clubbed sports.

    Lap 20
    Round 6
    Wild card (acrostic)

    This morning the
    Endless weight of
    All I have
    To do is crushing
    Against my
    Soft head...
    Tools to save me
    Ere I
    Sag beneath
    Growing pressures?
    Oh
    Obviously, some
    Delicious tea.

    Lap 20
    Round 7
    Insect

    Dear Mr Spider,

Your legs looked like they squealed
as they gave way and bent into the shape
of tiny triangles. I had never thought
of death before, the way mother
picked you up and tossed you through
the window made me wonder if
    all were forgotten too easily.

    ROUND 8 ACROSTIC:

    How do you always
    envelop my mind
    like liquid bursting over
    lava caves?

  • Narphangu

    Lap 20
    Round 9
    Movie Star

    I never realized
    the ironic display
    his eyebrows made
    when pulling a face...
    The facial curls that
    match your head
    will only exacerbate
    my midnight fantasies
    from now on.

    Lap 20
    Round 10

    Cooking

    I always look forward
    to tomatos and peppers,
    the way I toss them
    in the heat..

    as they consume and cook..
    I consume thoughts..

    I often find myself,
    in pieces of onions..
    not because they,

    burn my eyes,
    but because they
    allow me to let out..
    Tears I didn't even knew I had

    Lap 20
    Round 12
    Seven Lines

    A cluttered mess
    of clothes scattered everywhere,
and make-up dusting everything in sight -
seems as though a earthquake shook
my room and left it in a tizzy,
now I don't know where to begin,
but you always have to start somewhere.

    Round 13
    Magic

    Maybe there's a trick
    to your wink and
    swerve...
    the magical ways you
    move that compell me to
    hang to your every word.

    Lap 21
    Round 1
    Grandmothers

    She was a tiny
    frail little pixie,
    with the perfect shade
    of beautiful gray hair -
    her itsy bitsy little chuckle
    was enough to make
    even the toughest man smile.

    Aabab

I can't think of anything to rhyme so
desperately I pull out thesauruses, OH

There's someone after me down below...
Seriously, Abby. This is so not alright.

    Lap 21
    ROUND 4 - FREE

    How do you determine
    the reality of freedom?

Is it the choices you make
    willingly, without another's influence
    or the way you decide
    to live your life
free of the shackles from others?

  • Courageous Dreamer

    Lap 21
    Round 5
    Squirrel

    You'll often kind them
    climbing up trees like skyscrapers,
or running aimlessly like a fire
    lit underneath their tail -
    chipping away at acorns
    cradled in their paws.

    Lap 21
    Round 6
    Wild card
    (7 lines)

I went to the club last night
saw this girl, man she was fine
I kissed her cheek, offered her wine
held her hand as if she was mine
but she was stupid, she wasn't sage
    pretty and slutty
    and underage

    Lap 21
    ROUND 7 INSECT

    I once pondered
    how a ladybug

    doesn't describe the perfect
    scene of murder.

    Movie star

    When I see you,
    on tv..

    my heart melts
    although I know
    it is a script..

you make it look so natural..

    its only when,
you hold michelle between your arms

    that I too wish,
    you were
    my uncle Jesse

    ROUND 10
    Cooking

    It's early afternoon
    and you can find me
    peeling potatoes, carrots
    and mincing garlic,
    hearing the whur of appliances
    in the background
    and a subtle song bubbling
    off my lips.

  • Narphangu

    Lap 21
    Round 11
    Nature

    I hear birds chirping,
    faster than I can type.
Oh, if I could type as fast
    as they could chirp,
    I would've finished these
    poems ages
    ago.

    Round 21
    Round 12
    Lines

    Somewhere 'tween the silky shore
she strips herself of seal clothing -
    wonders round the city streets
finding a man that would bloom
her heart with sea shells and
    peel starfish from her
    tiny rib cage.

  • Courageous Dreamer

    Lap 21
    Round 13
    Magic

    Seven layers of magic
makes for a delicious treat -
    nuts tossed with coconut,
    butterscotch and chocolate chips,
    sprinkled over top a thin
    graham cracker crust,
drizzled in sweet condensed milk -
    simply magical.

  • Britt

    Lap 22
    Round 1
    Grandmothers

    The vast differences between grandmothers
made me realize there are two kinds of people -
    one loving, nurturing, and warm
    the other
    careless, abandoning, and cold.
    Their hugs felt different,
though I was surprised I ever was held
    by grandmother number two -
her touch was more a rough pat on the back
as though the near sight of you
    would give her a disease.
    Grandmother number one
held you like a baby cherub
    and pinched your cheeks,
    how annoying that was
until she wasn't around to do it anymore.

    Lap 22
    Round 3
    Rhyme

    Gotta rhyme,

    This is not sublime.

    Lap 22
    Round 4
    Free Verse

    The leaves were star-shaped,
    strung together in rainbow color,
    illuminated against a hazy backdrop
as fuzzy as an orange -
almost as if they were a sky
of their own of which I loved to
    tiptoe upon as I dreamed.

  • Melpomene

    Lap 22
    Round 5
    Squirrels

    She once asked me if
    squirrels were eating the earth,
and I pondered for moments before
    realizing she was painting
acorns with blue and green and
    stringing them from her ceiling
for she wanted to see the
    world before her eyes and
    asked if I too would
    travell with her -

    I have always admired
    this childs mind.
