    Lap 22
    ROUND 6 WILD CARD

How often do you get to see
the citrus beams of the morning
    floating in your coffee cup
and take the time to notice
the puffy marshmallows in the sky
    creating a funny image
    for you to giggle at?

    Round 7
    Insect

I used to think I was nuts,
    lived stressed out..
    and when It all got,
    too frustrating..

    they paid thousands for
    a psychiatrist.

    but I,
    just got the plastic hand..
    and started killing flies

    Lap 22
    Round 8
    Acrostic

For days I've been decieving myself, living
    Under patriotic flag, perceiving
Challenge, and bending to the wind of chaos.
Kindly nodding my head to the
Persistant poetic uprising from fellow clubs,
Obstructed from my homework, weekend, but I say
Enough already. This droning list of prompts
    Must see contest's end... If
Someone else doesn't put a stop to this, I will.

    Lap 22
    Round 9
    Movie Star

    Puss in Boots

    He's quite the frisky cat
    yet a fighter at heart,
    for he's always armed
    with his sword,
    dressed in a cape
    and black buckled boots -
    he'll soften your heart
for he's cute as a button.

    Lap 22
    Round 10
    Cooking

    Add some water
    a dash of salt,
    pepper to add some zip
    cut the celery nice and
    small, the carrots nice
    and thick.

    Six tomotaoes diced
    real neat, then give
    a gentle stir
    Add some pasta, oh!
    not too much or a
    boil-over will occur

    Cut your onions,
    add some spices, one
    dash at a time
    give a taste ...
    ummm so good

    Homemade soup
    for supper time

    Lap 22
    Round 11
    Nature

    I wish I was a river,
    a powerful one
    that takes with
    it everything-

    to have such strength
and be a sight to see,

    I just wish
    I was anything,
    anything but human..

    although,
we are part of nature too..

    Round 12
    7 lines

    Traffic
    bumper to bumper,
the worst kind, and were stuck in it
living our current life in the slow lane
    And what do you know,
    once were able to drive
our fresh, large drinks fall over.

    Lap 22
    Round 13
    Magic

    She placed red rose petals
    upon her windowsill, watching
as they glistened in the moonlight
under the spell of Venus -
for she was of love and romance
and it was said she'd guide
    them together.

    Lap 23
    Round 1
    Grandmothers

    I once asked the history
    behind your pearls and you
fiddled with your 20 cent sized
    daffodil earing's before
perching me upon your lap and
    story telling about
    pirate ship days.

    You always were the
    definition of lovely -

    tongue trailing from English
to Maltese as you'd stuff olives
    with ricotta with spinach.

    I still remember your
    eyebrows drawn in zig-zagging
    arches, lips painted with
    crayons and your gray hair
    begging me to dye it.

    Even in sickness; hands shaking,
her face would be smudged with a smile.

    aabba Rhyme

This is what I get,for cheating on my chick
in my room there is guy and he is playing with his dick
quite a sight to see I must say
    The way it wiggles away
    I am disgusted.

    Bittersweet,
    the way you crawled
    along my bathroom window,
    a gecko whos every breath
    could be monitored by the
rise and fall of his chest.

I saw you move like a
    ninja, a black belt
    'gainst your prey, swallowing
    an antique moth before
    scurrying down the drain pipe
and being lost within the rain.

    Lap 23
    Round 5
    Include the word "squirrel"

    I found you -
    dying like the fallen
    leaves of fall.

    Your body curving
    and swaying back and forth
    in a groundless scurry.
    The latest victim
    of sharp claws and pointed
    teeth.

    Oh pretty squirrel -
why did you stuff your mouth so full
    you couldn't run

    wildcard
    (free)

    you held me inside
    your womb,
    for nine whole months
I kicked your ribs from the inside

    then I went to karate,
    I tried judo and
    soccer too,

    and after eighteen years
    of kicking,

    I still feels
like I haven't kicked my way
    into,
    your heart.

    Round 7
    Insect

Every time I collect my mail
I am greeted by green ants,
    The bury within' skin like
    an echidna to the earth
    and sting as though
    thousands of bees are
    defending honey. I swear I
    once saw their eyes bulge
    with vengeance as they
    nipped at my neck,
    it's war I tell you.

    Acrostic

    Moonlight Muses

    Marvelous people
    Opening their heart
    Over internet lines
    Never a dull moment as
    Laughter and conversation
    Inside these walls
    Glides like silver rainbows as
    Hearts beautifully connect
    To create lasting friendships

    Many times I felt alone
    Unloved and broken, yet
    Someone was always there to
Ease my mind and comfort me with
    Sweet words and gentle ~hugs~

    Super hero/moviestar

    she is beautiful,
    a dazzling lady made
    so carefully

    the curves,
    the lips

    oh,
    those dimples

    Cheryl Cole,
    is perfection.

    Cooking

    I always imagine you -
flour dusted 'pon your cheek and
    chocolate drizzling down your wrists,
    your recipes sprawled 'cross the
counter and Jason lingering behind you.

    Lap 23
    Round 11
    Nature

    Autumn life bleeding
    red and orange
    as the golden branches
    swing and sway beneath
    crisp winds.

    Each leaf like
    the palm of a hand,
    with unique lines
    feathering to the
    left and right

    And with a quick
    swoosh Mother Nature
    beckons her children home
    to nestle to the root
    to sleep

    boy will be boys.
    forever will they remain pigs,
I often wondered what they'd do if
    we were pussy-less
but then I realized we needed them
    for vibrators..
    couldn't buy us drinks.

    Magic

    I'd watch him conjure affection
from a hat, a white rabbit
with a ribbon 'round its paw.
He'd fumble cards in sweaty palms,
    a nervous magician -
the way he'd stutter spells but
    charming all the same.

    Round 1
    Grandmothers

    Hand in hand we walked,
    her sharing memories of
    the styles of the 1920s
    and me chattering about
    the new skipping rope
    I got at Easter.

    She held on to every
word I said, like a dainty
    tea cup. Examining my
face as though it were a
    fine piece of china
    you place up high, too
    precious to break.

    At lunch we would sit
    sipping her homemade
    chicken soup from glass bowls
    with pretty flower decals.

-My mom always made me use plastic-

    My grandmother paved the road
    of my life with happiness
    and cheerful smiles,
a road that lead me to where
    I am now.
