    Lap 19 - Round 12 - 7 Lines

    Every so often
    He waddles through my mind
    But an expert in choice
He chooses not to play a part

    Perhaps, a complete coward
    who hides and seeks comfort
    on his smelly mother's loins

    Lap 19 - round 13 - magic

I often thought that the moon
was an illusionist, the way she turns coats
    while her small neighbours always
wear the same ragged sleeping gown

    Sometimes she makes me believe
that a part of her has caved in
due to a heart attack by the sun,
for he only meets her at the verge
    of water and air

    but today I know
    that it's only her nightcap
    that's sunken over her eyelids

    which makes me realise
there is no magic in the moon,
    no elysian gates open
when she and her lover meet,
    no cryptic creatures rise
from the clouds that lull her
    to sleep

    merely insomniacs
    and other fools appear
    in her presence

    Lap 20 - Round 1 - Grandmothers

It is not unusual to see
Mr Burke strolling to nine mass,
and hear the soft clip clap as his walking stick
    kissed the weed-permeated path.

He had so many stories to tell that
he didnt care for them anymore.

    He seemed happiest when accompanied
    by an energetic five-year-old, bouncing
    in time with his Grandad.

I was suprised how sorry I was
when he passed. At the funeral
the priest told stories about his achievements.

The only thing I remember, and I think
the only thing Mr. Burke would count
was when the priest called him 'a true grandpa.'

    Lap 20 - Round 2. 17 syllables

    plumed folds of bliss
    Of carnal flavors,
    heaven at first taste

    ..are your lips.

    Lap 20 - round 3 - aabba

A man came wistling down the street today
fishing in his pockets for a pack of cigarettes to display
He walked so slow, he must have forgotten what he was doing
so I presented him a lighter that surely got him viewing
and off he ran: the image of a clock flashing by in disarray

    Lap 20 - Round 4 - Free

Keep me where I stand, dear,
For I need for you now to know,
I can no longer carry you forth,
    Theres nowhere I can go.

    Shadows fall upon me, dear,
    And time about me fades,
But you will never fear the dark,
Your heart will smile in shade.

    Remember me and cherish, love,
    Each succulent morning sun,
And keep me in your heart forever,
    Where we are forever young.

Lap 20 - Round 5 - Include the word "squirrel"

    There are times
I wish for a pair of wings
Perhaps then, I could hop and skip
    Like a squirrel
    Trying to get a nut
    Atop an almond tree

    Lap 20 - round 6 - wild card

    Seventeen ships
    sail towards my life:
    pirates steal
    my teddybears
    and cage them
    in burning cake.

    Happy Birthday

    Lap 20 - Round 7 - Insect

If I were born in a different place
    I might belive in reincarnation.
And if I believed in reincarnation
I would die and become and insect.
And if I died and became and insect
I could be trodden on my a person.
And if I were trodden upon by a person
that person would have committed a sin.

If that person was born in a certain place
that person could be going to hell.

    But I believe in reincarnation.
I will become a new insect, more improved,
and maybe not get trodden upon this time.

    Lap 20 - Round 8 - Acrostic

    Rosy cheeks in bloom

    sweet, sweet ambrosia:
    engulfing the day with pride

    Lap 20 - round 9 - superhero/star/mythological

Goblins jump out of my drawer,
    they've axed a way
    through my paintings
    and kidnapped maidens
    from a world where
    peaches are more tempting
    than Adam's apple
    and apples grow
    beneath the earth.

    These maidens shall not bite
    nor wriggle out of those
    muscular goblin arms,
    for they are true ladies
    who turn into hazelnut trees
    which even the mightiest axe
    cannot chop down,

    for they are childrens
    of gods from both worlds.

    Lap 20 - Round 10 - Cooking

    Time is ticking, steam billowing,
    tempers rising and tempertures boiling,
pressure is mounting as flames are growing,
and all the while the cook is glowering.
The chicken is black, the vegetables burnt,
rice is scattered at even turn,
Cutlery still coated in saucey grime,
    here everybody, its dinner-time!

    Lap 20 - Round 11 - Nature

    On this melanic autumn
When the skies bleed nigricant tears
    You're bound to realize:

    Rain doesn't really mean anything
    Contrary to what they say
    "It washes your pain away"

For here I am, on a bed of nails.

  • Saerelune

    Lap 20 - round 12 - seven lines

    Amsterdam is a big town
of bicycles and bras against the windows.
Sometimes you'll find a drunken man
    sniffing some green powder
that surely isn't meant for guns
and off you'll go, around the corner
into a place where vagabonds pee.

    Lap 20 - Round 13 - Magic

I wish I had a little wooden stick
that with a trained flick, could make
    dishes clean themselves, or bruises
fade away or conjure a map to old treasures.
I wish I could utter an enchantment
that might make you kiss me
as you once did. But abracadabra
or hocus pocus are only rhyming novelties,
a stick is a stick, and if I could do magic
    I wouldn't have to wish.

    Lap 21 - Round 1 - Grandmothers

    If I could

turn back the hand of time
    perhaps, it would be easier
    to perfect my rhyme
    through your

    gray strands.

    or

learn my first ABC's at the click
of your hips and false teeth.

    Lap 21 - Round 3 - aabba

    Lap 21 - Round 4 - Free

    If, I am as free
    as a bird,

I would fly the seven seas
    visit the Hanging Gardens
    for just a wild cherry

    perhaps, perch on
    the legendary
    Great Wall

    as I envisage
    my lover
    beneath the
    Taj Mahal

    Lap 21 - round 5 - squirrel

    Poor chipmunk,
    abandoned by its
    fluffier and smaller
    family of flying squirrels.
    Surely you cannot
    cascade with autumn leaves,
    for you'd break your neck
once the freefall sets in, because gravity
isn't so reliable after all, and the wind
    doesn't seem to like you.
    But at least you don't
    break all the windows
    when you sing,
    for I've seen you
    on tv, with Alvin.

    Lap 21 - Round 6 - Wild card (7 lines)

    Keep me beside you dear
But when time comes to say I love you,
Keep company with me no more.
Words are fragile, words are weak,
    And actions drown them out.
So kiss me with your toxic lips,
    and forget what life's about

    Lap 21 - Round 7 - Insects

    Don't you know,
    mosquitoes are the
    vampires of the
    insect world?

    They suck your blood
    with their might,
    without knowing
    that it could be their
    last meal.

    Lap 21 - round 8 - acrostic

    Time didn't allow me to

    all those clustered wounds
    under the radar.
    Maybe my parents
added a chip in my brain.

    Gerard Butler

    Sexy Scottish slur
    Lips I'd die to kiss
    300 made me want him
    But something is amiss

    I cannot find him anywhere
    Searched both low and high
Suppose I'll live inside my dreams
    Where never he will die

    Lap 21 - Round 10 - Cooking

    I could never find comfort
    At the smell of garlic
    Filling my nostrils

    Or the clinking
    of silverwares louder
    than my mother's mouth

    Thank God, my fiance
    is a vampire in camouflage

    Lap 22 - round 1 - grandmothers

    I have two grandmothers
    and they're both oceans away.

One of them paid the boatsman
of life, long before I learnt
to swim, and ages before I knew
    what it meant to dress
in a white gown before you sleep.

And the other one is collecting
    tin cans on the street,
    trying to live further
    in this big city
    where cars crash by
    without a notice
    of this wrinkled,
    Malaysian woman.

    Lap 22 - Round 3. aabba

    I could never write again

Now, I like her, simple and plain

  • Saerelune

    Lap 22 - round 4 - free

    I have a pet turtle
    that's hyper when you
    stick your finger
to the tip of his nose

    for he thinks you're
    some delicious sausage
    and keeps biting
    the glass wall
    until you walk away.

    Sometimes I hold a bowl
    of chocolate icecream
    in front of him, because
    my heart is infected
    by friend

    Lap 22~Round 5~ Squirrel

    He ran along the fence
    Scanning for everything
    Food, enemies, maybe even friends
He stopped to stare at me
    I threw him a peanut
He picked it up and moved along
I now count that squirrel as my friend
He always stops by to stare

    Lap 22 - Round 6. Wild Card

    Wild card, yet again
    oh Lord, it ain't fun
    when you're always
    on the run.

    Would you be nice
    to drop me a line?
    For this verse
    is lacking of substance.

  • Saerelune

    Lap 22 - round 7 - insect

    There are tiny feet
    tripping upon my skin.

    Ants march after
    a waving red flag,
    shocked by the depth
of my ear, as they throw
coins into it as if it's
    a wishing well.

    Then they swing
    with my hair
    like tarzan,
    and land,
    enjoying the springy
    structure of my eye.

    It's holiday
    in Ants Ville
    and the children are
    moving from body
    to body.

    Little glimpses of magnificence
Everyone else would shout from the rooftops

Lap 22 - Round 9. Superhero OR mythological being OR movie star

    Another Jennie from the block

    Lap 22 - round 10 - cooking

    Diced carrots bob
    in the goulash bowl
    and I forgot what else
    was thrown into there
    perhaps fake fingernails or two,
    and a hairy worm
that's been hiding in my sleeve,
    because I just plucked
    some flowers these evening.

    Lap 22~Round 11~Nature

    Butterflies danced in the wind
    Flowers sang in the sun
There was nothing that seemed as beautiful
As nature set free to run

    Bees out gathering pollen
    Bears out rearing their cubs
We, here trapped, in our concrete forest
    Dressing it up with shrubs
