When does a poem

I dont really consider long paragraphs to be poems, they are just kind of little stories, like you said. Or even statements and recollections.

A poem becomes a story when it turns from prose to idle rambling or something with developing three phase plot (the base for all stories, three acts; beginning, middle and end).

I'd consider some of JPM's stuff to be anecdotes over poems, but he'd be a better judge than I. Maybe they are anecdotal poems...

stories are like paragraphs, poems are like write them how you want and say things you want poetry is more freedom but tell a story and not everyone that writes them relates to them, i sure don't relate to MOST of mine, only some of them
