Looking for a poem

Its was like

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the lord my soul to keep

That was what the authors rhythm to his poem.
But he changed the words. I can't remember his name or the name of the poem. haha
Help please.

I think it went
now i lay me down to sleep
i pray the lord my soul to keep
if i should die before i wake
i pray the lord my soul to take

That's a prayer/ HIM song/ Metallica song. also i used that line quite a bit in my older poetry

I think that is a rather irritating poem... Then again everyone has different choices
