    How do you nominate poems?

You have to be a senior member on p&q in order to nominate poems, which I think comes at either 6 months or a year. It will say if you are a senior member right below where it shows your new message and comments when you go to account news. If it says you are a senior member when you read poems there should be something that about nominating a poem in between where you vote and where you comment, and a button to vote for a poem to be nominated. I believe only recent poems are eligible to be nominated and older ones will not show the option to nominate.

I'd actually like to make a correction after reading another forum, I believe i met this criteria at around the above stated time frame and that is why I thought it had to do with time, but in fact this is the requirements to be a senior member, which is necessary to nominate poems:

"6. SENIOR MEMBERS: You will receive senior membership with a silver (blue) Comment award, which means you have 3-9 praised comments. Senior members can nominate poetry for the weekly site contest, and can become Managers or Assistants for poetry clubs."

As to what constitutes a praised comment, the guidelines are here:

    http://www.poems-and-quotes.com/comment_praise.html

you can find out how many praised comments you have by going here:

    http://www.poems-and-quotes.com/authors_comments.html

if your name is not listed you can paste this into your address bar and then add your id number after the equals sign, if you don't know your id number view your profile, by clicking on your name such as in one of your posts in this thread and copy the numbers after the equals sign:

    http://www.poems-and-quotes.com/author_comments_praised.html?id=

Your praised comments are the ones you give that are praise worthy to others, not the number you praise, so give a comment that meets the above guidelines, not a one liner, and eventually you will work your way up in praise points.
