Janis update

I posted a poem without any issues and had " " in it several times. This is the silly thing I posted

    "now is the time" for
all good people to come to the
    aid of testing the site
for "problems" that need to be
    corrected

EDIT: This line when posted in had problems with the accent over the letters.

Thanksgiving, or "Thanksgiving Day" (Canadian French: Jour de l'Action de grâce),

I believe Janis is working on the special characters...he was earlier this morning when I saw him. See his response on one of my posts above.

I think she knows that, Larry asked someone to test it. That's what she was doing.

Janis thought he had fixed it but is concerned that he may have created problems in the process.

In the meanwhile, I find that copy-&-pasting poems results in a "Deleted Poem" message. Editting it brings an edit screen with no poem or title.

However, direct composition on screen posts as normal.

These characters have been problems in the past, but only when copied from a word processor:
' single apostrophe " quotation mark - hyphen
Some characters were simply not available such as the copyright symbol, paragraph symbol, section symbol and so forth.
The following characters were never a problem:
    , . / < > ? ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + { } | = [ ] \ : ;

I was able to copy and paste the poem in without any problems and could edit it. No Deleted Poem messages. What I did find is that the poem did not appear in the genre choosen for it. Misc. was what I used.

I just created a thread in my club but when I try to click on it, it gives me this error ' there are no posts'.

    Can someone help me, please.

I just tried posting a thread in my club, and it seems to have worked. Were you copy and pasting text, or just writing it like normal?

Oh shoot, I just did a copy and paste :(

I just wrote a post that was fine. When I edited in an apostrophe from Word, it deleted the post and left a "0." Oddness abounds.

Lol, I copied a certain text from Shadow Poetry.

Ha, links might be the answer for the moment. Actually, I wonder if that will even work.... let me see.

Edit: Well that seems to work.

Sorry about these new issues. Janis told us to anticipate some glitches as he updates the technology. Our little site is used to more old-fashioned coding, I think. I'll make sure he's aware of the issue, and I bet it will get resolved within the next few days.

I'm not sure Sibs as I'm unable to open the same thread :(

Ah, sorry. One of us will let you know as soon as we get an update or answer.

It looks like apostrophes might be the culprit, here.

    Ok, Thanks :)
