OK..you have signed out so..I don't feel I can leave this unanswered , my answer is going on the VD clip you provided...nothing else and...just my observations.

The first person to speak...of german decent?
    man on the podium...jewish?

All fine.....but both are speaking with American accents so...it really doesn't matter any more to me...if they loved their country so very much in the first place then..why did they leave it and why take these issued with them? I am a migrant myself BTW .

Hellon, I don't think I need to make excuses for me signing out..

anyway, Rabea said so: "he knows it all, better than you and me =-)"

And that's why I envy the guy holding a speech, He knows it all!

The first person to speak is American, I don't know if he has Jewish roots! Rabea knows so...

It's not about Reality, you know Abed there might be another well respected person saying the opposite....thing is, the whole world is untrue anymore.

It's very hard for us to believe the indefinite (in our eyes) truth others see by their own facts, and it's very hard for them to see the indefinite (for them) truth that we believe in, and do have proofs on.

why? because of camouflaging ..disguising those facts and realities by well penned political speeches, or a propaganda..plenty of that, to the point that people started doubting whether what they are watching is true or played.

The only way to face reality is to be there, feel, live, and see by your eyes what others talk of, suffer from..and rant about. which ofcourse is doubtlessly hard for international and historical issues... We will just have to wait...for Salvation lol

it's seriously an endlesss debate, you can never be right, nor wrong. even if you were right (or wrong) the ball is always lost somewhere between the fields XD

Seems to me the point made in the video is simple in it's expression, difficult in application and nearly impossible in determination:

No past abuse is a valid defense for abuse against someone else.

^ I agree with Ms. Sunshine that this is an endless debate. It is a debate on history, politics of religion, a lack of compassion for human values and humanity in general and a lot more. It is a debate that draws innocent bystanders for gaining sympathy. But when they do, what do they get in return.......(Americans and other United Nation members) who go in as saviours to these parts of the world each time to defend peace, justice and liberty, and get labelled as partisans, hated by the native people of those lands and loose their lives needlessly, for very little gratefulness from the people who they go in to save. It happened in Kuwait, Iraq, Somalia and is still going on in Afghanistan and many other places around the World.

The feud between Israel and Palestine is not any different than what is happening today in Iran, Syria, and what happenned in Libya until recently, and what happened in Lebanon for 30 years or more. It is exactly the same. The only diference here is that the feud is between people who follow different religions (Muslim and Jewish people). If there would have been only 1 religion in this world, they will be all brothers and sisters.

I think political and religious discussions should be taken to other websites (not PnQ). Invoking disagreements which have no solutions, and bringing such controversies to PnQ will only add fuel to the fire, that is already consuming innocent American and Western lives. Perhaps, when generations outgrow and better EDUCATION prevails, children intermarry across political and religious borders, we can see eye-to --eye. We are all children of the same GOD.

I see this thread as pointless, stirring up needless controversies which may not have any solution in our lifetime. PnQ members (brothers and sisters) transcend religious and political borders, and should not be drawn in to hate, violence, politics and religious biases. That would subvert the purpose of the creator of this lovely website, to promote poetic art not hate across artifical geographical, religious and political borders.

Nana I disagree, the truth is clear and near impossible to miss, you're giving an excuse to ignorance and that shouldn't be the cAse, with the presence of Internet you no longer need to be in the front lines to know who's right and who's not. And while I disagree about the matter beingwrong and right, it's a matter of those who believe in the supremacy of some, And the equality of all, choosing to be ignorant and not to believe what's actually happening will eventually backfire on you becAuse you're obviously going to be labeled as a hypocrite and an ignorant :)

  • Britt

Rabea I definitely understand what you are saying..I don't listen to what my politicians say and I do my own homework (and the internet has been SO helpful with that).. but how many people, really, are going to do that? A majority of the masses are going to listen to the politicians and assume they are 1. always lying or 2. telling the truth but still lie.. I know some people who have said something is true because the President said it. Well I had near 30 different sources (both left and right sources, too) and they still didn't believe me.. 'the President said so, so it's true'. Some people don't look or won't listen to the truth, and we can't ram it down their throats.

  • Sunshine

Mmm you definitely missed my point then XD but as I said, an endless debate, we fail to understand each others posts were we come almost from the same place, so I seldom get shocked when people fail to understand other people across the other side of world..
This thread won't go anywhere, but I will try reword what I said Rabea, not about being ignorant.

you are free to call it excuses, it is truth, internet? it's BS...All i am saying, no body nowadays, during this period of time: TV channels, News, organizations, utubes, played videos, leaders with different speeches and contradicting ones, yet directed to the same world..same audience.. it is waaaaayy impossible for someone who lives outside the battle field to believe what those inside the field are witnessing, unless they become a part of it. this is not defending, this is not giving excuses, this is a factual truth, this is our world today. you can reword it, you can make it kinder or tougher, the truth remains a truth. This is our world this century!

I will go one step further, Nana.

It is impossible for either side of a violent conflict to appreciate that the other side has the chance of any valid position.

    *********************

See, exactly my point, if this is what you really do believe in then excuse me for breaking the bubble that you live under, 1st of all, I need to clear a mis-understanding, Us as Arabs(Muslims/Jews/Cristanis) have no problem what so ever with the american community, or the westrain life style, so to speak, we have a problem and it's a definite problem with the government that influences our life style in a way much like it influences yours my friend, only 10 times worse.

keep in mind that the Media, whether left wing or right wing, will always be bias to support a certain point of view, and almost always will it support the one financially backing it.

Yes Americans entered the iraqi lands and freed it from a very hostile tyrant, Saddam Hussein, but have you ever wondered what happened next?
Ask any Iraqi and they would tell you they would rather live under Saddam Hussein's reign of terror instead of what they are offered today, which is total chaos, I don't need to speak about the motives to why Americans Ventured into this invasion, because it's crystal clear the accusations were rather false, and they lacked any authenticity to them, It still dazzles me today, that the most intelligent forces such as MI 5 and MI 6 along with the CIA and the Moused could actually give wrong information, assuring the existence of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq where in fact there were none.
I need you to look into the Causalities that resulted in this invasion before actually agreeing that this so called war on terror has made Iraq a better place, then come and ask my people for some gratitude, because quite honestly, you'll find none, because if anything, it only resulted in more Havoc and lives lost on both sides, whether it's the american/English troops, or the Iraqi citizens,
Yes Iraqi's needed liberation, But believe not this kind of Liberation, because if anything, If revolutions are happening in Egypt then who are you or me to say they couldn't of happened in Iraq,
yes they could have, but the answer to why Really Americans have ventured into Iraq remains un-answered to me.

I have to agree with Brit on this, American troops should only defend under american soil, unless someone appose a direct threat to the safety and well being of Americans I find no need what so ever for American soldiers to be abroad, but this isn't the case, is it? because from where I stand, I can point an american military base any way you decide to look @ the world map. It's an invasion bud, none the less.

Nana dear, The truth will always be there if you seek it, No matter what barriers you have in front of you, if you really want to know what's happening you'll end up knowing, there is no way to hide it forever my dear. Yet in this time and age, people either chose to simply ignore it because it contradicts everything they stand for, or plain and simple just don't care.

This thread, like many others, can be very informing, I don't see how pointless it can be unless someone either decides to utter false information or be plain disrespectful.

Reality.....? yes I agree the wise should always put a question mark after reality, Even the PMS and members message systems are a media . Anyone who believes any media is infallible lives in a fantasy where I suppose there is no drama and no one is ever misled. You cannot honestly ask someone how they feel about something a genuinely tell them they don't feel that way. I find these forums very informing in that regard, as poets and philosophers seek the truth together. So far this thread has for the most part been respectful to all races creeds and nationalitiesWho said I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it?

Rabea, you are still misreading my posts, nothing I am posting here represents how I see things, I know what's going on because I live it everyday. I know the truth, I know what Happened in my country, in Palestine, in Iraq...I am telling you what are the obstacles standing infront of justice, and truth revelation . I am pointing out what made this world at this period of time soooo lost in fanatical beliefs. I am ONLY "pointing out" why half the world is blinded.

Ofcourse there's a portion, big one of this world who choose not to seek the truth because as you said it stands against what they stand for. some who just don't care. But a big part as well is "fooled" by everything I have listed in my previous posts.

Doesn't mean I am fooled, or unaware, I do know the hurtful truth(s)!

    edit:

as a side note? I agree with everything else you mentioned in your post, totally my beliefs too. Sad

a debate that I wish not to be a part of. I will keep it short to this:

when I said battle , I only meant "field" "boarders" or inside the country itself, I did not mean a literal battle nor a real war, not at all, so excuse my unclear word choice ;) :D.
