"My whole issue is still with the tie break situation and how such nominations can affect who ends up winning...if a poem has 10 comments and only one nomination...does that make it any less worthy of a win either? And...I still don't think anyone still really knows which of these poems would take out third place....that's my point." |

I honestly don't prefer the idea of someone breaking the tie... The computer is not subjective at all. It chooses the poem which is more popular. That doesn't suffice? |

Popular doesn't always mean better. Look at the "all time favorite" poems... Not many of them have won. |

Maybe this is an idea Sibs, though that is the decision of just one member, wouldn't it be better that in the case of a tie, the existing judges would choose which poem they believe is the winner? |

But if two poems are in a tie...its obvious there is a disagreement between the judges... |

Not necessarily though, If someone gave a poem a 10 and someone else it a 7, the other poem wouldn't necessarily be assigned points by those same judges, |

I like Tara Kay's idea, but the problem is getting everyone online and able to cast their last vote for which would be the winner, AND get it back to Nana or a mod to place the vote to make it the winner over the other. I would assume we have judges on different time zones (at least not all on the east coast for example), so we run into the issue of getting the information in on time :/ |

I like Sibs idea. The mods or a sub fill in when there is a judge unavailable so they should be qualified to step in in the case of a tie. The judges arent supposed to know who each other are and getting together to discuss what poem should win would cause more hassle in my opinion. |

I'm not saying they'd have to discuss, Each judge would PM there descision and back up comments to the contest host and mods, |

That's just more work for the poor host... |

It seems like more work for a judge. Maybe it's not that much, but it would still have to all come in, Nana would have to vote or let a mod vote for it, and what if there is a tie or something off with the judges? I see room for more issue. |

We need Janis to hide the votes & revise the ordering of poems. |

Question: should the tie breaker write a comment? |
