Vote for breaking weekly ties

12 years agoHere is the place where people can cast votes for how they would like 3rd place ties in the weekly contest to be broken. Please reply with either "Computer" or "Substitute," and leave the rest blank. The other thread can be used for discussion - we'll just use this one to clearly tally. Let me know in the other thread if there's anything I should add to the descriptions. We can leave this up for... two days? Or until it seems that everyone has stopped voting.
Computer
In this choice we will continue to let the computer automatically choose between multiple poems with the same number of judges' points. A pro is that the computer is naturally unbiased. A con is that it chooses its winner based on number of nominations or ratings*, rather than other value.
Substitute
In this choice, a substitute (probably a mod, but perhaps an extra judge) would step in after the rest of judging is complete, and break any third place tie with a vote of 4 points. A pro is that it is another critical eye ranking the two poems, as we expect the judges to do, and it's not based on number of nominations. A con is that humans may have some inherent bias.

*I added the "ratings" part, because I'm actually not sure which value is considered. We never heard back form Janis for a definitive answer, so if anyone knows, please speak up! If you already voted and this fact would change your vote, let me know and I can edit it.
