Billy Rob and everyone else who posted in this thread, I am so terribly sorry I deleted the thread accidentally. I hope no one is too upset :(

    ----
Billy Rob posted the lyrics to this song and wrote a lovely comment at the top about PnQ.

    Holding Out For A Hero
    by Bonnie Tyler

Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the streetwise Hercules to fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
    Late at night I toss
    And I turn
And I dream of what I need.
I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night.
    He's gotta be strong
    And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight.
I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light.
    He's gotta be sure
    And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life!
    Larger than life.
    Somewhere after midnight
    In my wildest fantasy

    Somewhere just beyond my reach
There's someone reaching back for me.
Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat

It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet.
I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night.
    He's gotta be strong
    And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight.
I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light.
    He's gotta be sure
    And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life.
I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night.
Up where the mountains meet the heavens above

Out where the lightning splits the sea

I could swear there is someone
    Somewhere
    Watching me.
    Through the wind
    And the chill
    And the rain

    And the storm
    And the flood

I can feel his approach like a fire in my blood.
I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night.
He's gotta be strong and he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight.
I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light.
    He's gotta be sure
    And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life.
I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night.

In the last thread, I confused Bonnie Tyler with Bonnie Raitt. Billy Rob corrected me, but agreed that Bonnie Raitt is great.

I said the song by Bonnie Tyler made me think of the song "We Don't Need Another Hero," by Tina Turner.

Sibs pointed out that the song by Bonnie Tyler was in Shrek.

Larry posted up a song by Bonnie Raitt, and Karla posted up the lyrics to a song about working for pleasure and working through pain. Please remind me of the title and post the lyrics again, Karla. I apologize.

Several other members posted up that they like the lyrics/songs being mentioned, including Melpomene and Everlasting.

Karla posted lyrics to the song "My Truth" by the Cocteau Twins:

You become a world for his
    New heart, accepting
    And you can work
    Through the pain
    Or enjoy the pleasure
Commit to the work of both
    If your love has energy
    You have chemistry
    And you can work
    Through the pain
    Or enjoy the pleasure
You can you can you can work
    Through the pain
    Or enjoy the pleasure
You can you can you can work
    Through the pain
    And come to peace
    It's frightening
    Exciting
    Something shakes of forlorn understanding
    The truth is not perfect
    But it fools and confuses
    Every moment vaguely
You can you can you can work
    Through the pain
    Or enjoy the pleasure
You can you can you can work
    Through the pain
    And come to peace
    I remember my secret
I write it down and then I tell you it
    It's not harm free
    Outside of myself
    What has saved me?
    C-c-c-c-can work through the pain
    Or enjoy the pleasure
You c-c-c-c-c-c-can work through the pain
    And come to peace
You can work through the pain
    Or enjoy the pleasure

Honestly Jane, I'm surprised how much you remember from the original thread haha! Good memory.

My post went something along these lines:

"Ah, Billy Tyler. Reminds me of my childhood, my mother would play her music often. Thanks for sharing Robert, gave me a glimpse back into my kidlet memories.

Larry, I hadn't heard that song before but her voice is indeed breathtaking!

Karla I like those lyrics so much I'm off to find it on youtube"

I did find it on youtube by the way, lovely song.

Everlasting, I also recall you mentioning Enrique Iglesias. Was it the song Hero?

  • sibyllene

I've done it too. More often, I go to "answer post" or whatever and accidentally hit "edit," and suddenly find myself inside someone else's post. It's very voyeuristic. And it usually takes a second for me to realize it. I know I've accidentally editing one of Joe's posts before.

To the members that have been the wind beneath my wings from Michael the arch Angel XD

    http://youtu.be/1gJrA6Dj1nM
    "Wind Beneath My Wings"

    Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way.
You always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name for so long.
A beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it.
I would be nothing without you.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?
    You're everything I wish I could be.
I could fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be.
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Oh, the wind beneath my wings.
You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly away. You let me fly so high.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,
so high I almost touch the sky.
    Thank you, thank you,
thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.

    Toal Eclipse of the Sun

Turnaround, every now and then I get a
little bit lonely and you're never coming around
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a
little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a
little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a
little bit terrified and then I see the look in your eyes
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and
    then I fall apart
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and
    then I fall apart
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a
little bit restless and I dream of something wild
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a
little bit helpless and I'm lying like a child in your arms
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a
little bit angry and I know I've got to get out and cry
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a
little bit terrified but then I see the look in your eyes
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and
    then I fall apart
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and
    then I fall apart
And I need you now tonight
And I need you more than ever
And if you'll only hold me tight
    We'll be holding on forever
And we'll only be making it right
Cause we'll never be wrong together
We can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time
I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark
We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks
    I really need you tonight
    Forever's gonna start tonight
    Forever's gonna start tonight
Once upon a time I was falling in love
But now I'm only falling apart
    There's nothing I can do
A total eclipse of the heart
Once upon a time there was light in my life
But now there's only love in the dark
    Nothing I can say
A total eclipse of the heart
    Turnaround bright eyes
    Turnaround bright eyes
Turnaround, every now and then I know
you'll never be the boy you always you wanted to be
Turnaround, every now and then I know
you'll always be the only boy who wanted me the way that I am
Turnaround, every now and then I know
there's no one in the universe as magical and wonderous as you
Turnaround, every now and then I know
there's nothing any better and there's nothing I just wouldn't do
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and
    then I fall apart
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and
    then I fall apart
And I need you now tonight
And I need you more than ever
And if you'll only hold me tight
    We'll be holding on forever
And we'll only be making it right
Cause we'll never be wrong together

I love Michael Jacon's Earth Song. Oh such a beautiful song and the filmclip just gets me...

    Earth Song"

    What about sunrise
    What about rain
    What about all the things
That you said we were to gain...
    What about killing fields
    Is there a time
    What about all the things
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the blood we've shed before
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores?

    Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
    Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh

What have we done to the world
    Look what we've done
    What about all the peace
That you pledge your only son...
    What about flowering fields
    Is there a time
    What about all the dreams
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the children dead from war
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores

    Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
    Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh

    I used to dream
I used to glance beyond the stars
Now I don't know where we are
Although I know we've drifted far

    Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
    Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
    Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
    Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh

    Hey, what about yesterday
    (What about us)
    What about the seas
    (What about us)
    The heavens are falling down
    (What about us)
    I can't even breathe
    (What about us)
    What about apathy
    (What about us)
    I need you
    (What about us)
    What about nature's worth
    (ooo, ooo)
    It's our planet's womb
    (What about us)
    What about animals
    (What about it)
    We've turned kingdoms to dust
    (What about us)
    What about elephants
    (What about us)
    Have we lost their trust
    (What about us)
    What about crying whales
    (What about us)
    We're ravaging the seas
    (What about us)
    What about forest trails
    (ooo, ooo)
    Burnt despite our pleas
    (What about us)
    What about the holy land
    (What about it)
    Torn apart by creed
    (What about us)
    What about the common man
    (What about us)
    Can't we set him free
    (What about us)
    What about children dying
    (What about us)
    Can't you hear them cry
    (What about us)
    Where did we go wrong
    (ooo, ooo)
    Someone tell me why
    (What about us)
    What about babies
    (What about it)
    What about the days
    (What about us)
    What about all their joy
    (What about us)
    What about the man
    (What about us)
    What about the crying man
    (What about us)
    What about Abraham
    (What about us)
    What about death again
    (ooo, ooo)
    Do we give a damn

    Awesome thread my friend :)

I am sure of not being the only one loving this song.

    Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this it'll help you some sunny day

Oh, take your time don't live too fast
Troubles will come and they will pass
Go find a woman you'll find love
And don't forget son there is someone up above

And be a simple kind of man
Be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me son
    if you can?

Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you my son is to be satisfied

And be a simple kind of man
Be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me son
    if you can?
    Oh yes, I will

Boy, don't you worry you'll find yourself
Follow your heart and nothing else
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you my son is to be satisfied

And be a simple kind of man
Be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me son
    if you can?

Baby be a simple, be a simple man
Be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man

Ik heb een liedje ook (I have a song too, in dutch:P) Oke..

does it even make sence in this thread? Dunno know..but its so uplifting :D

The last of me - Cher

    Feeling broken
    Barely holding on
But just there's something so strong
    Somewhere inside me.
And I am down, but I'll get up again.
Don't count me out just yet

I've been brought down to my knees
And I've been pushed way past the point of breaking,
    But I can take it.
    I'll be back -
    Back on my feet
    This is far from over
You haven't seen the last of me.
You haven't seen the last of me.

    They can
    Say that
    I won't stay around
But I'm gonna stand my ground
    You're not gonna stop me.
You don't know me, you don't know who I am.
Don't count me out so fast

I've been brought down to my knees
And I've been pushed way past the point of breaking,
    But I can take it.
    I'll be back -
    Back on my feet
    This is far from over
You haven't seen the last of me.

    There will be no fade-out
    This is not the end
    I'm down now
But I'll be standing tall again.
    Times are hard but
    I was built tough.
I'm gonna show you all what I'm made of.

I've been brought down to my knees
I've been pushed way past the point of breaking,
    But I can take it.
    I'll be back -
    Back on my feet
    This is far from over

    I AM FAR FROM OVER

You haven't seen the last of me.

No, no, I'm not going nowhere
    I'm staying right here
Oh, no you won't see me fade out
    I'm not taking my bow
    Can't stop me.
    Its not the end
You haven't sseen the last of me
    Oh, no -
You haven't seen the last of me.
You haven't seen the last of me.
