    Ummm.....
Homosapien: Large brain, small teeth...Thinks more, devours less, only needs 2 feet to stay on the ground, with imagination that can fly high.

Tigrus/carnivore order/Felidae family: Small brained, Large teeth (? sabre toothed), large carnivorous mouth, gnarl (smiles with a growl), need 4 feet to stay on the ground, big and ferocious felines that will eat all other primates alive...........totally agree here! But just beware of the big elephants (elephas maximus, i.e LP species) they know how to defend from tigers, if they come in the way.

Me: Just a tiny neanderthal, uncommon herbivora, lost his herd, perched on a Bodhi tree, watching with a smile.

OMG I have to go pee but ... this screamin demon in my head has me writing poems about peanut butter and then I was abducted by aliens and my lips were cold because Larry hasn't sold me his mustache or maybe he has been abducted too or just ignoring a poor girls pleas for help ... who knows.

SD, I just got on & saw your request. Check your PM.

Robert, I lived in Uptown at General Pershing & Saratoga, just off Napoleon. Loved it 'cause the early parades came down right by the house & it was only a few blocks to St Charles for the Parades on Mardi Gras.

My wife used to ride on Rhea out in Metairie. We'd also hang out in Fat City with her aunt.

Just did a turdukin for Christmas. My second & last commercial one. They totally "ducked" out on the duck, with just a tiny log of it lost in the stuffing.

N.O. food! Don't get me started. Acey's Pool Hall: open faced sloppy roast beef po-boy with smashed potatoes on the side. Catching crabs off the West End bridges. Drive-through Frozen Daiquiris. Camellia Grill breakfast at 2AM. Tipitina's special boilermaker while Professor Longhair was on. Oysters on the Half Shell at Fat Harrys. . . . .

Gosh you're making me hungry. I've been hankering for more exotic winter foods than our traditional Midwestern fare of meat and potatoes. We've since been cooking up Thai food and creole and cassoulet and paellas by the dishful.

The Ramos Fizz with breakfast at Brennan's....THE BEST!

Ramos Gin Fizz - forgot about that.
    & Tyler's 10 cent oysters
    Casemento's Oyster loaf

Used to be in sales. I'd call Lennie (1st wife) from Houma, tell her to invite the crowd, I'd just gotten a sack of oysters right from the boat. Bunch of us sat in the back room breaking them off the rock, opening them up (one for the tray, one for me . . .). Round midnight we'd run to Schewggman's for Leeks, cream, butter & milk & make oyster stew.
    Great times!

Now I'm starved. Should I make oyster stew or paella?

  • Daisy if you do

Oyster stew, yummy. If its cold enough there. It's about mid 60's today.

Got some friends that live in Houma, crazy bunch of cajuns down there.

We always do oyster stew for Christmas Eve. I'll sip the stew, but no oysters for me...

    I decided: Why choose?

The paella is delicious (I used chicken wings, summer sausage & talapia). I substituted habenero for cayenne.

Later, at midnight in the tradition, I'll make the stew: I got oysters & shrimp, small red potatoes, leeks, celery & carrots, with cream & butter.
    Garlic is involved.

Yummy! It was delicious. Your oyster stew looks more hearty and substantial than ours. I might even try it.

It was superb. The cream mixed with milk gives it substance to match the veggies I use. Try a tablespoon of dry sherry poured right in the center of the bowl.
