I need some ideas. My mom is turning 50 next weekend and I'm super sad about it :( I hate people getting older!!!

Anyways, I don't plan on buying her a present because I already spent money and took her to a Rodeo and out to dinner as her gift, however I do want some ideas of anything cute or something small I could get her on her actual birthday or the day of her party?

I know we have some older folks in here, or even folks who have parents in their 50's, does anyone have any special ideas or something youve done??...

Do not suggest write a poem, as much as Id like to, my mom is sooooo emotional and when she cries I cry and then itd be a whole blubbering mess lol.

    Anything??

Write a long heartfelt letter, including at least one poem & let the cry-fest begin. It means more & you'll find it among her saved things years from now.

Also, professional photograph of the family.

^ Listen to the big guy =)

And just to add my opinion. You could make a slide show of the time line or prepare a video of the time line, memories and moments gathered over a span of years. Which could include clips and photographs of you and your family. And you could may be, include a few pics of you and your mom alone. And while the slide show/video is being played, may be you could include messages from you to your mom, as a way of thanking her for caring immensely. Adding good music could help. It'll be like a music video I guess :P

Here is a good example. The video is of a father dedicating a video for his daughter.

    BT - Good morning Kaia.

Something you have made with your own hands and that will show how much you appreciate all she has done for you.

Buy her a Star? I think they were for 50 dollars Last time I checked, But it's cool, You can name the Star after her, and they will give you a link to exactly where the location of the Star is :P

I thought the pandora bracelet thingy was only a trending topic with these crazy arubian teenagers that buy one for no purpose at all and parade around with it :p without making it meaningful.... teee heee,

I'm 44 yrs but I don't care about chronological age .........when I'm 50 (since I'm single by choice .......I just want 10 men of brawn to give me a strip show ....................coz I can be a hectic mom ha! Ha !

On a more serious note --the bracelet idea is cool .......she can always look at it and touch it as a constant reminder of the love you share .................maybe surprise her with a friend she hasn't seen for ages

Never saw this earlier so I'm late and her birthday has gone by I guess still....I liked FG's suggestion for the star...I was given one of these a few years ago and simply loved it. You get a lovely certificate (which I've framed) and a map telling you where your star is...

For future reference maybe...my most precious piece of jewelry is a small heart pendant with my grandson's thumb print on it...together with his name and birthstone. It's made of pewter so wasn't very expensive...mind you wearing it on a silver chain was a big no no as the pewter corroded 3 chains before I decided to put it on a piece of leather....I never take it off now...love it!
