I see sweet Ddavid has been silenced :( Love ya, D man!

^ Is that for me sweet Jane? Ha ha. Love your debates with Noir.

Din't know we had so many talented playrights and plays in this theater. So could not resist adding my 2cents:

For one, I love plays/games, as long as they do not get rowdy...for if they do, the referees are always there to grant them personal fouls, suspensions or kick them out of the game.
I guess PnQ goes by the same rules. Referees maybe a little different, but the players and the game is the same.

Noir is from the Land of Winston Churchill, who once said:

"Any man under 30 who is not a liberal has no heart, and any man over 30 who is not a conservative has no brains".

AND Jane is from the land of Abraham Lincoln, who once famously said:

"Our safety, our liberty, depends upon preserving the Constitution of the United States as our fathers made it inviolate. The people of the United States are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution. "

But both men, stood for liberty, freedom for all, and to uphold justice when threatened. So you both are right, in this debate, not contradictory at all.

Each of you is viewing the courtroom drama differently, from the point of view of the Judge and the defendant, seated in different parts of the courtroom. But the Judge more often than not agrees with the defendant's plea and acquits him.

    Thanks for the ^prompts guys.
I got 3 (original one's) listening to your debates:

-If there weren't enough playwrights (dramatists) there wouldn't be a play (drama) or playwatchers.
-If there wasn't a courtroom drama to be played out, there wouldn't be a need for a court or a judge/jury to solve it.
-If there were'nt enough ball players, there wouldn't be a game; and if there weren't any games there ain't going to be any spectators, to hoot and cheer.

^Michael, love your short stories and quips. Always, the humor, to make my day.

If there weren't artificial drama, people may have to get lives.

    Real drama really sucks

"I think you have something else in common with Noir. When either of you is let off the hook or gets off easy, all's well. When one of your arch rivals is let off the hook or gets off easy, you're quick as a bullet to cry "wolf."

Lol.. Don't flatter yourself... I see you as I stated before as nothing more than a hypocrite and I've explained why... I may be a little bit mean when I'm having fun, but I always know the line, the line that MUST not be crossed...

I fought against Bob and even called him out on it... But whats funny is that you seem to think my criticism of you is personal... when really I am just telling you that you are supporting even enforcing that which you fought against... Which makes you -wait for it- hypocritical

Thats all... You can issue whatever rules you wish, but don't act like its good when really it isn't...

    Its just too funny

I thought that this thread had some humor. But, now I have to agree with Michael, Larry and Jane there is more drama, gone bad, unfortunately.

The fire should burn out by itself, if there is no more fuel to feed the fire.

An extreme left wing can only be counteracted by a right wing or a right centrist wing, to maintain a balance, unfortunately.

I fought against aspects of the old moderation that I didn't approve of, and we no longer have those aspects. I call that winning!

Right you are, Lonely Soul ;)

Lol... You fought against the censorship of posts that fall beyond the 10 pillars of PnQ rules... and now you're enforcing the same rules you fought against... I don't call that winning... Just funny

    Noir you are wrong.....

This is not the same site you used to frequent some time ago.

I thought you of all people would see that... the fact that you are here infrequently confirms that this site is running smoothly and in a just manner as you seem to thrive on controversy

Actually Noir, many rules have been revised, even subtracted. Just another example of how people forget the past...

However, I appreciate you trying to keep me in line ;)

I honestly laughed at that... Its too cute, but I will let you have that seeing as you know me so well...

Sibs, Jane... you guys make me proud.. X"

Can I ask is Nicko's post off-topic, seeing as it has nothing to do with the thread? Shouldn't you moderate this Jane? If you're going to follow and enforce the old regime, at least stick with it...

Why but, Noir, that's one of the things I fought against!
If I moderate his, I moderate yours as well. I have no desire to do either, since you are both arguing fairly (for now).

However, I will now be excusing myself from said argument.

If anyone has any reasonable questions or concerns about the first post of this thread, I'll be around. I think it's pretty clear.

That's something the mods took off the plate - the rules have changed, Noir, and you clearly don't know them now. Off topic is no longer considered spam, and you no longer get penalized for it. Haven't for at least a year and a half or so now.

Lol... If I was off-topic in relation to this thread... Point it? Nicko's post did serve any purpose? Was it a reply geared towards the discussion or was it an opinion in response to it (the thread)... Nope, all it was is a comment of how proud he was? lol

Rules are right here if anyone wants to brush up!

Lol... Britt, its on principle, you're new rule basically puts you in league with the old regime, in that making comments that would seem harsh to the post rather than poster is punishable, off topic in a sense doesn't negate it, and in that very thread only jovial off topic comments are welcome... At the end there is censorship and conservative thinking in league with the old days...

Which is why changes like off topic seem trivial, why not just let it like before because really nothings changed

  • Britt

But a lot has changed. If you came around more than once every six months to a year, you may see that :)

I don't have a new rule. I'm not a mod, I don't make rules. I just understand that we can go off topic and not get penalized. I know that I can say I'm bored off my ass, but not call someone else an asshole. I know that I can disagree with you and tell you I think you're wrong and here's why, but I can't tell you (or anyone else) I think you (they) are (insert rude adjective here).

Imagine if the mods truly enforced the rules as Janis has them written, without interpretation or anything lax. Holy moses we'd never be able to breathe here.

Noir, I see what you are saying, and hopefully my edit of an above post (where I state how things are different) will be more accurate and better for explaining the present mod regime.

Britt, give yourself more credit. You did wonders as a mod, and now as a member, in promoting freedom of speech for members... and in taking member opinions more seriously.

This thread is almost at 100 posts.

Every mod does a lot (they don't generally get a chance not to, lol), but it's never any one mod. Everything is done by at LEAST majority vote, so I believe it's "everyone's" rule or "everyone's" credit, if that makes any sense.

I do say, though, that since losing my mod status I definitely do see things in a different way. It's funny having been on both ends for a while and seeing the new frustrations but remembering the old. Keeps my behavior in check :)

It will be interesting when I stop being a mod someday to be back to member status. I'm sure I'll see things more clearly. Almost wish I could take a mini mod hiatus now and see what the mods aren't seeing! It could help us do our jobs better.

The best you guys can do for us is explain things from your perspective in the most honest, understanding way possible.

    100 posts. Thread locked.
