why do you think people write poetry?

i think people write poetry becuase it can get emotions out of your soul that you have been holding in too long

JPM - At one stage in your years of forever writing, you were to a teenager. Dont forget that one day these teens will grow up too, just like you did :o)

I write for the same reason I breathe - I have to, to survive :o)

i write to clear my head, because i need a way to express my self, and because i am a person that likes to do creative things and well if i don't do something creative in a while i always get this feeling that drives me NUTS! but i only found out a way to stop that feeling like last year when i was forced in art class, which i didn't want, but then loved, and when i had to do the poetry unit in english, which i thought i was gonna hate, but now i got almost 100 poems so it's a way of being creative.
