Mod Shout Out

I just wanted to take a moment and give a shout out to the mods that I have had and am currently working with.

There are certain things that we encounter as a mod that make us reflect back on our duties and cherish each other's abilities and the qualities that one another brings.

Some mods did not last very long and some last forever. However, each mod stood a purpose and their job was never easy.

The current team is constantly working to improve the site and strives to bring forth things that we think the members would like.

However; there is one mod who has a keen eye and always picks up on things that appear wrong and investigates them. This particualr mod has helped removed several unsafe and unwanted individuals from this site.

Larry is great about bringing things to our attention that do not appear right. He goes above and beyound to scope out whether we should be concerned about an individual and normally we do not say anything publically. If the situation was different I would not be allowed to say anything now, but I can so I will.

Last night Larry caught wind of another predator on our site and brought it to our attention. He was up late gathering information and texting me as well.

This morning I logged on and called Larry, he brought me up to speed and everything was ready for us to send to the police department. We just had to track down which officer to send it to.

When I reached the police department where the victim is located they said they had been working on this case for six months and were relieved to have the information that Larry had gathered. The contents and information from Larry should be enough to have the predator charged.

This is not the first time Larry has found a predator and stopped them in their tracks. Sadly, it probably is not the last time either. But I am glad that he is on our side and constantly working to rid OUR site of these sicko's.

With people like Larry here at PnQ I feel safe letting my daughter browse without me monitoring every keystroke. I will however continue supervising, just not every single letter. (LOL)

No matter the amount of dedication and work we put in to make this site safe I want everyone of you to remember that safety starts with you and with parental supervision.

Do not give out personal information to someone you have not met. And do not just let you child hide behind a screen and chat with people all day. If you could see some of the things that we have seen it would break your heart as a parent.

Again, thank you to all the mods both past and present. Your time, efforts, and dedicaiton are appreciated.

No matter how many times any of us hear news like this its always just as unsettling as the last time, nicely done in catching this, glad to see there are effective people protecting the young of this website

Wow. Excellent work Larry. That makes me feel great about being here as well. I've never been suspicous or uncountered someone here that made me feel unsafe thankfully but of course I don't' know everyone here. However, just knowing one more predator will be off the site and off the street is such a relief and really good news...

Thank you Larry for your dedication and for all the other mods as well.

    Great job, Larry:)

Sadly so predators are everywhere, and mostly to be found in positions where thery are trusted (uncles, fathers, teachers, coaches, etc)

I want to say to all young people that read this: no one has the right to touch you, unless it is a doctor and you have come to see him because you are ill. Always ask (yourself) why, don't follow up orders, don't believe them when they tell you to obey or else. Because only the cowards of this world go after children, they are far too chicken to kill your mum, or whomever they said they'd kill if you don't let them have their way with you.

Don't trust anyone that you have not met in person, the profile pics, or the ones they send you could be of someone else and not them. And do never, I repeat never send anyone (semi) nude pictures of yourself or undress in front of a cam, those things will circulate forever on the net and you may not be accepted for a future job because of that.

Thank you for the kind words. It is far more important, though, to maintain diligence.

I should add that the same information went to the police in the location of the perpetrator.

    Great job Mod Team.
I do agree with Ingrid, Be careful out there girls and boys. Sadly so predators are everywhere and mostly to be found in positions where they are trusted; uncles, fathers, teachers, coaches, etc. and aunts, mothers, teachers, babysitters, etc...

Great job, Larry. And thanks, Sher, for bringing up this topic. Every time something like this happens, I'm still surprised. I guess it's something worth being shocked about. I'd rather keep being shocked than start to get complacent.

Everybody! Be careful with your personal information! Even if you aren't a kid, you should still be wary about what identifying information you put out there, on this site or any others.

I am 100% confused. What predator? What do/did they do?

I don't know what you guys are talking 'bout. Although I turned 17. Lol.

    Educate me!

    Noura, Noura, Noura.
You worry me too much, in fact, you'll turn my hair grey.

Anytime a grown person uses their life experience to sexually manipulate a younger person it is predation.

In the US, if someone does it who is 4 or more years older than someone 16 or younger, it is illegal.

Sexual predators often locate victims on-line, using the anonymity of the internet to emotionally entrap them. Sometimes they pose as young girls, luring young men to hotel rooms. Sometimes they build a false persona, usually with power of some type, connections, wealth that is available sometime in the future, or they have a tragic flaw that makes them seem vulnerable. Sometimes they are girls who lure multiple victims into tawdry 'affairs of the heart' without a semblance of remorse.

I thought I wrote message of gratitude when I first read this thread, but I guess I forgot. I'm pretty much in agreement with all the other posts. You do excellent, excellent work for us, Lare-bear. Thanks a million. Let's keep this site safe.

In other news, but still related:
The last time PnQ went down, we were unsure of the cause. Now we know the site went down because Janis was changing email server configurations. Less email from PnQ will wind up in spam folders! Already we have seen more than a 30% increase in new members confirming their registration on the site!
Also, as you have likely seen on the Account page, weekly e-newsletters are starting back up. To ensure proper email addresses, a change in your address will now require email confirmation.

That's not all, folks! We think we've resolved the "glitch" in the weekly contest votes :) There may not have been any troublemakers after all.

Shout out to Janis and the mod squad for continual efforts!!

I'll be around for the next hour if anyone needs me.
